Many of our vehicles are equipped with audio/visual systems, namely, either a TV/DVD or a DVD standalone. We do everything in our power to make sure the A/V system is in working order before you leave on your rental.

Many of our van rentals and truck rentals are equipped with trailer hitches. If you would like to tow something with your rental, you need to provide our rental agent with the following details: 1. What you are towing 2. The distance you will be towing 3. The gross weight of what you are towing When we have this information, we can help you find the perfect rental to safely tow your load.

A weekend rental lasts from either Friday until Monday, or from Saturday until Monday.

All rental vehicles are calculated by a 24-hour clock. We have a one-hour grace period, but if you exceed the 24-hour period by more than one hour, then an hourly late charge will apply, starting from the first late hour, and accumulating until you reach the daily rate. When the total late fee reaches the additional day rate, you will be charged an additional day.

Deposits must be left when making the reservation or at the time of pick up of your vehicle. The amount of the deposit is based on the length of the rental and the destination. It is also dependent on the CDW deductible that the customer chooses. If he/she selects a higher deductible on the vehicle, a higher deposit will be taken, in addition to the amount of the rental.

Yes! We offer affordable and quality TLC cars for rent. For your ride-sharing service, you can select from our economy car rentals or midsize car rental options.

We offer both enclosed and open trailer options. Our enclosed trailers are available in the following sizes: 4x6, 5x8, 6x10, 6x12, 7x14, and 7x16. Our open trailers are available in the following sizes: 5x8, 6x12, and 7x12.

No. Your credit card or debit card will only be charged, once you speak with a representative from our company to finalize your reservation and to discuss the best possible rate.

We offer an EZ Pass that will allow our drivers to go through tolls without fees, so that you don’t have to worry about accruing any violation fines. You can login at One Pass Tolls or call their phone number (877) 691-7277 and put in your rental dates and rental agreements to find out how much your toll fees are. We offer this to our customers for only $7.95/day plus the cost of the toll.

No, you don’t have to buy our insurance if you’re already covered by some other plan. Many automobile insurance policies that you already have for yourself or your business cover a “like” vehicle. So, if you own a car or minivan, you could rent a car or minivan and still be covered. Many credit cards companies even offer free car rental insurance as a perk. Please check to make sure you are covered. If you’re not, we offer Collision Damage Waiver and other forms of insurance that will help protect you from any mishaps.

If your vehicle is powerful enough to handle the trailer and is equipped with the appropriate hitches, then you can certainly use your own vehicle. Simply contact us at (800) 750-8782, and we can discuss it. Many of our van rentals and truck rentals can tow the trailers, as well, so you can get one of those if your vehicle doesn’t work.

In addition to the sales tax rate that will be added to the cost of a rental vehicle, there is a passenger car rental tax rate that is set at 11%. This tax rate is in effect no matter what kind of vehicle is being rented. The car rental tax is not in the company’s control and is government imposed. We offer GPS navigation devices, bicycle racks, car seats, and booster seats. If you get a cargo van, truck, or trailer rental for moving purposes, you can also rent a hand truck, moving dolly, and furniture pads.

Yes. As mandated by the state of New York, you must be at least 18 years of age to rent. Any renter ages 18 to 21 will be charged an additional “Young Renters Fee” of $57 per day. Any renter ages 22 to 24 will be charged an additional “Young Renters Fee” of $20 per day.

Yes. We offer drop off service if you pick up your vehicle at one of our Empire Rent A Car locations and wish to return it at another Empire Rent A Car location within New York State.
