It's a small state park, but has a nice trail system, and the area down by the spillway is awesome. Lots of quartzite rocks down there, and the road bridge is made out of it.

Nice state park to spend a day at. Campground is nice and there are sites right along split rock lake. Trails aren't very long but are well kept and fun. Fish house, boat rental and a few fishing piers. Lots of wildlife here as well such as otter, turtle, deer and rabbit.

It's a small, well kept park. The hiking club trail was well mowed and in good shape. Coming from Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin, it's more like a county park.

Nice campground. Unexpected to have privacy in the wooded sites in such a heavily farmed area of the state. Clean bathrooms and showers. Careful not to get any tire on the grass though, enforcement is swift and over monitored. The nearby Dam is a pleasant place to view. I heard there were large turtles around but didn't see any myself. A good beach for the kids and some playgrounds as well. Hiking and biking trails, too.

Slow a few crappies and perch bullheads
If you want lakefront most sites are in view of it. Most of the area is agricultural so it is farm country. Nice and quiet however.
I think they rent kayaks, you will have to reserve them at the entry office, not sure of the fee.
