This Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facility has many positive attributes. For example the caring, knowledgeable and professional staff members. Family Counseling, individual counseling and Zoom AA meetings were also available. We never (except dire emergencies) left the grounds due to COVID-19. The program and curriculum is built around and for the individual suffering from addiction. I have been drug and alcohol free for 908 days. Just like any public health care facilities there are pros and cons. The Right Step is scenic, comfortable and safe place to recover. In my opinion the food at the time I was there (April-May’2020) was just satisfactory. They never served dessert or snacks! I only ate 1-2 meals per day (never breakfast) so I don’t know what happened at the meals I did not attend. We never had any cold water, hot coffee, tea or hot water! Their reason was because too much caffeine can mimic certain side effects similar to certain drugs. Also during my time there, there were no issues that threatened the safety and well of any residents. We didn’t go off campus (early COVID-19). If you or a family member suffer from addiction or alcoholism this is a great relaxing place to get the help you need. Recovery does make dreams come true. Sometimes slowly and sometimes quicker than expected.

I would say no. They are expensive out of pocket. If you are in Austin, call The North Austin Foundation. Speak to Justin. They can help with funding and possibly put him up until he can get in. Good luck, you are in my prayers.
We don’t currently have open visitation with Covid. All visits are scheduled through the individual counselor in the form of a family session. Hope this helps, Nick!
