Friendly staff. Located about an hour and a half from major cities. Clean, paved campsites and a safe area to camp in. the trails there a beautiful. However, beware of giant spiders in the bathhouse.

Went for a nice hike here at Buescher State Park with my wife and kiddo. Great experience from the beginning, starting with the very friendly staff at the headquarters. We paid for some goodies, and hiked for a few hours. Plenty of trails to choose, ranging from easy to more challenging trails. Although we did not stop at the playground, there were plenty of kids enjoying it. A hop, skip, and a jump away is Bastrop State Park, which has plenty of sites for longer R.V.s since this park only had smaller sites.

Super well maintained park. Bathrooms were cleaned spotless every morning over a cold weekend - made a huge difference. Water at the site was well maintained and rangers were available and definitely working hard to make sure everything was running smoothly! Playground for the kids made up for the fact that the lake was closed for renovation. Loved the Spanish moss on the trees.

Stopped here on a whim and was kinda gobsmacked. Only $5 entrance fee even for night camping. We did not camp but the superb facilities did tempt us to. There is enough shade around each camping site, the restrooms and showers were super clean. From as low as $25-45, even sheltered campsites with electricity, water, fans etc. may be reserved. We walked on one basic trail only but the park has biking/walking trails for different hardness levels. We could not stop until sunset from 'Scenic Spot' 4-6 offer stunning view of neighboring farmlands, which must be more scenic at sunset. There were also a handful of bluebonnets in front of the main office.

I believe so. They have hook-ups for trailers.
No, no need for a license in Texas state parks but there are restrictions on size and number of fish.
Paddle or electric only. Not a regular boat with gasoline motor. No boat ramp to launch from either...
No, there is no swimming at Buescher SP. They do allow fishing and kayaking, though
Yes! They sell worms inside headquarters . Kept in a small refrigerator.
It's open
They gave some behind office for $5 donation / 3 pieces. I would bring at least as starter log. We had trouble starting a few weeks ago. Waterlogged.
Approx $80 p/ night with park pass. Only 3 cabins, but #2 is currently out of service. All 3 are same size.
I don't see why not on the rc boat. Here is Texas laws as to drones. Drones are not allowed in Texas State Parks without a permit except for in two parks with specified zones for flying remote-controlled aircraft (including drones): Lake Whitney and San Angelo. You can request a filming permit for your craft at any park by contacting that park. Allow several weeks for the park to review your request.
You can do that online...tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/
Best person to know is park ranger. The lake level can fluctuate between 4 to 8 feet . Some trophy fish has been caught there. It is restocked with rainbow trout each winter as water temperature gets colder.
Very hot humid summer, typically no rain. Mild beautiful spring and fall weather with the expected rainfall. Winters can be freezing one hour n warm the next, it's Texas after all! Best time to fish is mid spring. Camping is good year around.
It maybe. If you go there when the office opens they will help you keep the slot you have chosen unless it was reserved and the have shown up.
They restock the lake with trout in winter. December. Usually most fished out in a few weeks.
Call the park ranger directly and they can tell you how often no show sites become available. Also, some sites are not part of on line booking and must be reserved via phone call to the park.
The cost is $75 nightly, plus entrance fees. this park only has 3 cabins
Beginner to intermediate difficulty.
Not sure why it's not, but the website states there's no swimming allowed. They do have a pool though.
Get a State Park Pass, which gives you discounted rates on everything and free admission for day use. The pass only costs $60-$70 per year, and pays for ourselves in no time at all.
I believe its 10$ / hr. Not sure about the fish maybe ask the Locals or Park Ranger.
camping site with water and electricity 17$ + entrance fee
Good rains today.
Yes Jan and Feb the tanks are stocked with trout
