Their lab is terrible, dangerous actually. Scary that my mother drove in the glasses they made for her, even for a day. They not only put one lens in the frames UPSIDE DOWN, the progressive transition line was different on each lens - crazy. Thankfully, knowing something was way off, she took the glasses ($900 glasses!) to her ophthalmologist and they said they've never even heard of such shoddy work, much less seen it for themselves. Nice staff here but will never go back; this was the second chance we'd given them - had messed up her glasses in the past, just not this bad.

I recently took my prescription to this facility, picked put some cute frames and paid close to $800 (with vision insurance; but I have a strong prescription so that’s not unusual for me). They told me it would take 2 weeks-which is really fast; mine usually take 6-8 weeks. I picked them up and Camille adjusted the ear pieces, and sent me me on my way. They were giving me headaches and eye strain so I took them to the ophthalmologist in New Braunfels where I had my eye exam. They were shocked to find that the lab Innovative uses, had cut my left lens upside down, that the glasses were considerably heavier and it had too low of a line for my bifocals!!!!! How does a supposedly ethical eye glass company not check their orders when they come back to the store? Today I returned the lenses for a refund; again they apologized but that’s unacceptable service. I drove on IH 36, into New Braunfels and tried for a week to adjust to my new glasses - THAT WERE TERRIBLY MADE. Sorry is insufficient. Please read their own website reviews ( something I didn’t do because I bought my last glasses there 3 years ago and found out that same day when I took in the new glass s that the lens on those also had the reading part of the bifocal too low. Some of the reviews on their own website say they are equivalent to a puppy mill🤨 Id suggest you go elsewhere…

The exam went well and the eyewear selection was nice. The customer service was lacking and the sales was cringe and pushy even using scare tactics out of habit even though I was buying the upsell. They are out of touch with making a customer feel welcome.

Greed runs deep. The extra imaging that they used to do as a apart of the standard exam, they have started charging $45 extra for. Pretty disappointing as that was a huge reason why I liked coming here before as it felt they went above and beyond your average optometrist for similar rates. I hope whomever decided to do that at least got a raise and a bonus for all the extra profit the office is walking away with now. But now that they're charging $45 extra for what used to be included with the office exam, what's the difference between this optometrist and your run-of-the-mill big box store optometrist? I'll probably look elsewhere for when it comes time for my next exam. Oh and the fact that wasn't disclosed when I made my father's appointment honestly feels like a bait and switch.

Not sure if you mean you need to repair the glasses (which we generally do at no charge) or if you need a new pair? We are not Medicaid providers however. If you need further help, feel free to call 512-328-0015, we are open until 6:00 today. Thanks!

Do you correct for starbursts after lasik surgery?

Pamela Kosobud | Oct 24, 2018

A great question that is hard to answer! Most issues in dim light are caused by the pupil dilating outside the LASIK ablation zone. If you had LASIK several years ago, chances are that the ablation zone was relatively small (newer lasers use much larger ablation zones), and in dim light the pupil dilates so you are seeing starbursts because you are looking through both original and ablated cornea curves. In some cases, you can have an enhancement LASIK procedure that doesn't change the refractive power of the eye, but just blends the ablation zone further out to eliminate starbursts. Hope that helps, please feel free to call (512-328-0015) and ask to leave a message for me and I'll call you to discuss in more detail. Thanks for your question! Dan McQueen, O.D.
