This place exceeded my expectations! Make sure to grab a guide book. Would have never picked up on a few things while hiking the trail and learned a lot. All the white spots are buffalo bone chips.

There is so much history to learn in one place! The staff provides tons of wonderful background knowledge about the area and how to best enjoy the beautiful scenery while learning! The little museum helps you gain a deeper understanding of how important the area was and still is to this day! The gates close at 6pm in the summer and even earlier in the winter so plan accordingly to be able to use the trails!

Nice museum and 3mile hike or drive to the top. Not much to see except beautiful mountain ranges all around you and of course the cliffs.

Excellent signage approaching First People's Buffalo Jump from I-15 N. Ample parking, including drop off/pick up area and handicapped parking. Clean restrooms. Bottle filler/water fountain available. The staff members were friendly and gave us easy to follow directions to the upper portion of the park as well as to a nearby Mennonite community. Be prepared for gravel roads. Lower Visitor Area has informational displays that are worth taking the time to see. The park was incredibly quiet for being outdoors - just the sound of the wind. In the upper portion of the park there are prairie dog colonies surrounding the parking area. Take a few minutes to watch for their heads to pop up from their burrows. There are hard surface walkways from the parking area to the top of the jump just a short distance away.

Yes they are we saw several families with dogs and they also have doggie bag stations along the trail
Almost 2 miles I think, and they do mean it when they warn you about rattlesnakes.
The full hike from visitor center to the top and back down is 3 miles. The drive up to the top parking area is gravel but not bad most times of the year. Right now the trails are covered with snow and I do suggest snowshoes. The top parking area is still closed until we are able to dig it out, hopefully by the end of the month.
Our hours on Memorial Day will stay the same, open from 8am to 6pm.
