Dr. Tondo has been my primary care physician for thirty years, ever since I moved to Troutman. I was one of his first patients when he established his practice on Perth Church Road (in what is now a chiropractor's office). I can still recall his bedside manner the first time I met him. He joked: "There's only two reasons why a young man your age comes to see a doctor. Your girlfriend or wife told you to, or you're scared. Which is it with you?" Dr. Tondo and I are both natives of New York City, and we bonded immediately. Honestly, I don't believe the negative ratings given to Dr. Tondo. They describe someone who is not the caring physician that I"ve known and who has cared for me for over half my life.
