I was homeless living in a condemed house, in and out of detox. I had burned so many bridges, I had no one left and nothing to my name. I had lost my children and losing hope with now where to go. Finally I had graduated out of a 45 day treament program and despiratly need a place to go, where I could stay clean and learn how to live again instead of just surviving. The Friendship Home saved my life! Through thier program I was able to start to rebuild my life. I was able to reunify with my children , get my license, gain employment, rebuild broken relationships with my family, become a Peer Support Specialist, get a car, graduate the program and transition into my own place! I am now interning as a Alchol and Substance Use Counsoler! I never imaging I would be where I am at today. I couldnt have done it without all the countless hours that the staff spent with me, building me up, challeging me and helping me grow, teaching me critical life skills, how to navagate resources, rebuilding my confidence and self worth, connecting me with the recovery community and support systems, but most importantly- how to build my relationship with God. Words cant describe how grateful I am for Gods work in my life THROUGH this place!!

I was an addict just wanting to turn my life around I was homeless and had no where to go the Friendship home took me in and honestly saved my life..they have two programs one with a substance use program that's the program I was in. It helped me learn coping skills and different tools to cope with life when I got housed. They do amazing ministry with the ladies daily. The Friendship home truly changed my life for nothing but the better and I am forever grateful for that place

The Friendship Home has given me so much HOPE when I was at my worst they have loved me till I could love myself again. Case Management is great & I get the Support I need in all areas needed. I've graduated the Substance Use Disorder Program which has helped me tremendously.. I definitely couldn't be where I'm at without the help from Crystal Sweatt, Heather Moran, & Jessica Bollinger

The staff here talk about God but do not show His love. I did not have a light in my room the 3 days I was there, my door didn't lock, and my room was freezing. Also there was no hand soap in the bathrooms! They like to say well it's a free place to stay so deal with it. My food was stolen and 1 staff smirked while the other hateful responded qe are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Well I would have had to went without food for 6 days because of their rules and policies and trust me none of them look like they'd never go without a meal. I was truly down on my luck and needing help to get back on my feet and they treated me like I was nothing because I didn't have an addiction. The men's shelter is great. The staff is what makes the difference.

Women are giving a case manger and a peer support specialist to work with while they are living inside the home and once they move out they will still continue to have their peer support specialist if they need them. Like I have already answered once the program is recovery based. There are meetings you have to attend, random drug screens and help with transitioning to community living. Plus recovery is not limited to drug addiction there are many other types like grief or anger!

Ok what is the program they have there? Can you leave when u want ?

Yes you can leave whenever you want to but if you do you can't come back. The program is recovery based. You have to do so many meetings a week, submit to random drug screens and follow all the house rules.

It's a homeless shelter for women and their children. There's approximately 40 beds. Anyone can have a bed if there is one available. It's just like a regular home with a kitchen and showers. You can live there up to a year but you have to work the program that they have in place. Residents can apply for overnight passes to go visit with family and the manger has to approve them. Not every resident has their own kitchen and shower. There's one gigantic kitchen and eating area downstairs for residents and each floor has two showers. You should go by and take a tour so that you can better understand the ins and outs of the home.
