I only went about a half mile It's open space for quite a distance no shade in sight. I was checking It out. It's a nice easy trail but not for summer. It looks good for fall, (I ll be back) Seems like I've heard that before.

Drove on dusty road for about one mile. The site seemed abandoned, no shade, not much view. Dry, hot, not worth it.

Wonderful trail to hike with interesting features to see and photograph. 1.9 miles one way. One of my favorite trails in the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area. Highly recommended.

Yellow knolls trail in the Red Cliffs nature preserve is an amazing scenic gem. I've lived 4 miles away from this spectacular tail for 20 years but had no idea what a special place this is. The trail is very well marked. It's very peaceful and quiet. The views and sand stone is remarkable. The trail is mostly Sandy with a gentle elevation gain. Wonderful opportunity to explore and test climbing sandstone. I will hike this trail again and again now that I've discovered it.
