Customer service at the Sunset branch on this day was ridiculously horrible! I had been calling the branch for over an hour trying to make an appointment with the notary. Got a recording each time saying they were too busy to answer my call. I drove across town to go there personally, and there was one teller in the entire bank hiding in the back, and ZERO customers!! Not another soul inside. I told the teller I had been trying to call for over an hour and he said, “I know—we’ve been swamped.” I looked around at the completely empty bank and replied, “yes, I can see that.” What a joke.

I was informed I have to schedule an appointment to close my account. The Teller wasn't exactly pleasant. I want to consolidate my accounts. I'm closing Chase versus my other checking because Chase outsources their customer service. Not to mention the overload of marketing emails I get from them.

Bank with this branch a few years back. People are nice. Came in today to cash a check drawn on a Chase Account and told they would charge me $8...I refused to pay. The head teller Lana told me it was a charge to make sure they have enough money to cash check for non-customers, and that most banks charge for this service. Haha! Every bank has non-customers this one chooses to profit from my money. I was informed I could come back on Monday to talk to the branch manager. I told Lana I'm sorry that she is powerless against the corporate requirements of Chase Bank. I will support local businesses that keep money in local economies. Charging a fee to cash a check takes that fee and puts it in the pocket of corporate executives. I went across the street to Mountain America Credit Union and easily cashed the check. I asked if MACU charges a fee to cash a check drawn on their institution and they said no, and they aren't aware of any I other institution that does. Guess where I'm keeping my banking business?
