The Place Stinks. We had book a room , for 2 days because it was close to the Casino. We left during the night . Because of the smell. Where do I start how bad it was. The Hallways smelled like Bug Spray. The rooms smelled like wet carpet from the a/c leaking for yrs.the walls and door are dirty. My Brother law had also rented a room. And later after he paid for the room , He had a bunch of unauthorized charges on his credit card. Can't proved it came for there , but

This was probably a nice hotel when it opened, but now it looks like lipstick on a pig. My room had no security lock on the door, no fire alarm, no telephone service, ants in the bathroom, and virtually no television service. I asked for another room the first day but was told they were fully booked. Maintenance came to the room, said he would look for the parts for the lock and the smoke alarm but never returned. I expressed my concern that if there were a fire there would be no alarm nor any way to call for there help. With three very clear code violations I felt that a 1 day comp was fair. No reply to my initial email. On second request was told that there would be no comp because we completed or stay. This place is a disgrace and who only knows what other code violations remain unrepaired. Unsafe. Unclean. Not maintained.

The Malveaux’s

here were bed bugs in the rooms. Our recent stay was in room 243. Both of the mattresses were old and very blood stained. When we realized the bugs, we immediately called for the manager (Paul). There was no answer and at that time we would have been fine with a simple room change. After 4 calls, still no answer. Unable to reach a manager, we felt hopeless. I continually flipped over my children all night as if they were pancakes to make sure they wouldn’t get bit as I did. My husband slept sitting straight up in the infested chairs. This was not only my first time visiting The Pelican State, but visiting with relatives as well. I would have liked my 1st experience to be a nice and relaxing one, but now we are just as the bed bugs... out to get blood!

Room could've been cleaner. I didn't want to touch door knobs or light switches. Room was infested with ants. No pillow cases, towel had blood stain, room chair was gross. When staying in a hotel with a popular name; you'd expect a better room. Just because it's a small town, does not mean the quality should fall below.
