The negative reviews surprise me. My experience with Kindred during my mother's hospice care in October and November of 2021 was excellent. Great communication, reliable visiting schedule, and very compassionate care. Maybe that's not everybody's experience, but it was mine. Mom did have some caregivers that did not impress me at all, so I do have a reference point for comparison. These poor caregivers were not the Kindred people, though, who were excellent in every way.

Communication, reliable supplies delivery, and timely arrival when notified of days they were coming were horrible over all. While not all people with the company were bad things should have been handled better. We had several issues and were told the office would call to make sure things were fixed but they never called back. If you can pick another company please do!

Kindred Care Hospice’s Administrator is a terrible communicator. She fails to lead her team in a supportive role towards the clients. Apparently there are untruths on multidisciplinary calls and the information is not shared or relayed to the caregiver. The social workers are sub par. They are one dimensional and do not provide any resources. When requesting to file a formal complaint, she said the buck stopped with her and she refused to give the name of her superior. The turnover is high. On call tries their best to not come out to tend to the patient. On one on call when my loved one was in excruciating pain, the on call nurse said there was no reason to come out and I could hear a child in the background. I called EMS, although she tried to get me to not call, and there was an extremely, serious issue that had to be tended to. The aide for my loved one was fantastic. The two nurses assigned were great. The nurses are over worked and spread out all over the area, making it impossible to provide quality service without jeopardizing their health. They do not want to provide respite care. They feel that the family should be able to take care of respite. I would not recommend Kindred Care Hospice.

With pain and symptom management, as well as education and support, hospice care allows patients and families to focus on what is truly important When Life Matters Most. It is a unique health care approach in which the patient and family are the focus, not the disease. Hospice care helps patients and their families make the most of the time that remains. Hospice is a team of specially trained health care professionals caring for the patient and relieving anxiety for the caregiver/family. Our hospice support team helps patients and families with pain and symptom management, social, emotional, and grief issues. Hospice brings comfort and quality to the remaining months, weeks, and days.
Hospice care is for people who have a life-limiting illness with a life expectancy of six months or less, and have chosen to focus on comfort care over treatment. Hospice works with the patient and family to develop a plan of care specific to their disease and individual needs. Eligibility criteria includes frequent hospitalizations, progressive weight loss, deteriorating mental abilities, frequent infections, and/or an overall decline in condition.
