Just incredible beauty... make it a destination, not just part off your trip.

Why are there no shower facilities for state park campers? The RV park businesses in the area have banned together and won't allow other campers to rent their showers for a bit!!! Just seems showers are needed... with fees accepted. I drove an hour to Taos to get a shower... and that's where I bought gas, ate out and restocked supplies... in Taos... It's apparent to me, Angel Fire and Eagle Nest don't want my money!!!

This road to Eagle Nest or heading to Ute Park direction, it's a must see area. Breath taking views. If you have a New Mexico fishing license you have got to go fishing here. Be sure to slow down and really take in the views.

There is so much natural beauty here. You could sit for hours and just listen to the waters and relax. Our family really loved it here! There are certain day areas where you can park for free and other areas that are day use campgrounds (like Junebug) where you can pay $10 for the day (or $20 for overnight camping with no hookups) cash or check only, and use their bathrooms (very clean) and enjoy the day exploring. They do have one singular water spigot you can use but cannot hookup a hose to it. There is tons of quartz lying on the ground which is fun for the kids to find and collect, and even some driftwood pieces if you look hard enough. Lots of beautiful treasures to see and enjoy here and we will definitely be back!

Cell depends on which brand but a couple miles either way it works. Yes you can camp in van and awesome fishing.
State park. Only closes when weather prohibits travel up the mountain.
Just left two days ago. All paved. Campground is just off the main road so very easy to see and get in and out of.
Absolutely!! Be prepared for low temps at night and nice warm sunshine during the days. Anything can happen; so be prepared for snow, rain, wildlife, fire bans.... It doesn't make sense to look at the past h weather permitting I go
We were very surprised that now all campground sites are now reserved. I don't know about Blackjack which is tent only and a person has to carry the equipment a ways.
Yes.
Yes you can bring your 27' ft. RV, all cimarron canyon camp grounds are dry camp,
Yes be careful out there.
I heard it was open for camping again. Yes there are various tent an campsites throughout the canyon.
I think the road is closed due to flash floods.
Yes, still have fires around or adjacent to Cimmaron Canyon. Air quality is ok depending on your position to the wind direction, but ok considering there are fires!! As far as the roads, I'd find another place 2 camp or hike or fish or etc.... Considering that there are fires!!!! Thanks hope this helps
The only water is a restroom, but they won't let you fill up there. There are no hook ups and no dump station. Closest would be eagle nest
They have bathrooms, with water. Hosts hook up to the water from it. I believe there's a place to get water. Most campers bring their own water. Camp sites don't have any hook ups at all.
What Mr. Mote wrote is accurate you can also get a fishing license on that webpage as well...you can purchase for 1 day up to a full year
