Just fine.

Great experience! My wife and I booked a last minute vacation even though my passport was set to expire two months from our date of travel. Instead of paying an expensive courier service, I decided to try getting a two week expedited appointment. The departure flight was on a Tuesday at 5:30 am. I called at the two week window to get an appointment (which is really 13 days from your travel date - at the 14 day mark I was told to call back the next day). The only option was the Monday morning before I travelled. There was no room for error. The folks at the agency were very friendly and did a great job assuaging my fears about not having a valid passport in time. As long as your information is correct you should receive the passport that day. After going through the forms and collecting needed documents I was given a return time a couple hours from my appointment. Even though the new system of calling two weeks before your departure date is nerve racking, it really does save space for those who have a travel need ASAP. Although next time I will make sure to keep my passport up to date, the worry about the what-if wasn't worth it, the experience here was smooth and painless.

I think I had the worst day of my life when I went to this agency. This is not going to work unless you set an appointment two weeks ahead of your trip. They do not accept walk-ins no matter what your situation is. I was calling their Appointment center every 5 minutes starting from 8 am til 2 pm that day hoping someone would cancel and I had no luck getting an appointment. The appointments were all taken for the entire week. Now I can't take my little boy on a family vacation :-((((

Continually impressed at how nice the staff is at this location for any of the passport issues I’ve had. The staff really seem to care about helping you get your documents taken care of

No. They send the documents back with your passport.
So we're kind of in the same boat. I scheduled the appointment the earliest possible in the morning at 830 and they told us to come back at 2pm. So yes they can do same day issue of the passport.
Yes you have to go up there and make appointment and tell them your situation. I received my passport and a passport ID same day of my my appointment.
Metered street parking all around the area & a couple parking ramps within 2 blocks
did you have to?
Depends on how fast you need it. I just applied for a passport for my daughter, using the expedited method (2 days) and the total cost was $175.
Check the passport agencies website. Basically you need ID, official birth certificate, official passport photo, and I believe social security card?
You can go to the DMV and do everything, or, go to Office Depot take the picture but you still have to go through the DMV.
The downtown location is for emergency travel (less then two weeks from today) only and requires a reservation made via phone (online reservation system is currently not working) if it’s further out that that you can make an online appointment at many other passport locations for normal service speed.
No travel has to be within two weeks
Yes
I went on a Tuesday and flew out on Thursday. Had appointment on Tuesday and then had to come back on Wednesday to pick it up. As long as you have all your paperwork ready with no issues you should be able to get it in time.
I have my ticket and I called today and she said I have to call them back on 18th to be eligible for urgent appointment, so hopefully I will get it before I leave and it’s doesn’t matter how much it will be I really need it!!
Yes, they do. They keep it while they process the passport and then give it back to you.
can I get same day service for my passport renewal?
Did you end up getting your passport?
I arrived at 930 am...out by 2 pm...great place and great people working there...you need to go online and make appointment. first and travel within 3 days.
No, the passport agency is closed to general public unless you are submitting a passport that is considered a "life or death emergency" in which you have to have an appointment for.
They normally open at 8 am... Walk in's are allowed
No; it's a federal holiday.
No you cannot get it taken at the passport agency but you can get your picture taken at the post office close by.
I'd say if it's not urgent, meaning you don't mind waiting the 4-6 weeks for standard delivery, and you have proper documentation (passport picture and new passport forms) you could do it online or go to any passport center. Going to the Federal building downtown Minneapolis is always efficient but not always the easiest and other facilities can handle regular processing etc. For me, I needed it quick and the federal building provided that after jumping through enough hoops but as you stated before it doesn't seem time critical so in my humble opinion, you don't need to do anything more than what they recommend on website. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/apply-renew-passport/card.html
You can apply for an expedited passport... you just need to show proof of travel.
Do they have walk ins ?
If you have all the documents in order and bring evidence of your tickets for the trip to your appointment, you will likely have the new printed passport that same day!
No, the passport agency only renews or issues passports, they have nothing to do with getting a visa.
I need to make an appointment
Go on the agency's website and follow the steps for renewal. Basically, bring your old passport, make an appointment, take a new photo at Walgreens, and have the documents filled out. You will have to show proof of your trip (flight itinerary) if this is for an expedited trip.
It's open.
I know this is 3 months too late, but here’s the info for everybody else: in case of emergency, you can get a passport the same day.
It probably depends on the needed correction. I found a toll free phone number on the first page on the internet after typing in "minneapolis passport agency". I'd schedule an appointment and bring the child along just to be sure.
Yes. You can use a passport card for land or sea travel. A passport book is required for international air travel.
You'll need to call them directly for that information.
No
Not sure about lots but there are meters everywhere.
Not sure. You'll need to call them directly for that information but expect to pay a fee for that kind of turnaround.
Go on-line and find out what documentation is needed for an expedited passport and show up Monday morning with everything complete and ready to go. The cost will be higher than a regular passport (of course).
Someone answer. Please
Yes, make any appointment online and get there ASAP. They are phenomenal here!
I know this is late, however for the future. You can travel within the US with a drivers license, anyone under 18 does not need any id for travel within the USA. Do not that because of the real ID act this is set to change in 2020, where will either need a passport or a drivers license with a gold star on it.
Yes. Make an appointment, follow all instructions and arrive with all your paperwork prepared.
The US State department has information on travel to Thailand.
Adult was $110 but $60 for expedited shipping was well worth it. I had my passport within days. If you bring proff of intl travel they will hurry even more!
Maybe give them a call? Also you should have kept the original? I believe they just keep a copy
