I’m left very unsettled with the experience I had today 10/13 at the Salem VA post office. Let me start by saying the woman who was working this morning at approximately 9:15 am was very very pleasant and wonderful to talk to. It was the man who was working at 4pm the same day that made me feel very uncomfortable. I went in to pick up a package so I wouldn’t have to wait for delivery. He told me it was still being sorted which was fine. What wasn’t fine is him glancing at my chest 6 times within a 4 minute conversation. Made me want to hide under a blanket whenever I go somewhere. Very very unprofessional and unpleasant experience.

Edit: I have changed this from a 1 star to a 3 because the Salem branch did specifically reach out to me about this concern. I'm very big on customer service and it goes a long way that they put forth the effort to address with me. I try to leave only positive reviews but today was ridiculous. I understand not wanting to work Sunday but whomever delivered in Bradshaw area off route 311 on 9/25 was ridiculous. I specifically left my front door open to watch for a delivery, was even trying to walk down and meet them half way because I try to be a nice person. But they threw my stuff on a wet, uncovered brick wall beside my garage (a place I never check for mail), and one set of electronics was NOT in a bag of any and it's starting to RAIN!!! They made sure to drive off before I could get to them of course. Wow! I am a super calm person but this left me yelling after them "gee thanks for the rudeness not mention potentially ruining my mail!" Not that they cared obviously. If you can't have common decency for people's things, maybe don't be the one to deliver them.. just a thought

Left a package at the base of my mailbox in the rain on a Sunday. Who looks at their box on a Sunday. We don’t need porch pirates, just curb grabbers. Do it right or don’t do it at all.

Have had mail in box for pick up at 7 this morning it is now 5:11 in the afternoon and it’s still there. It is not a Holiday!

It has to travel to Greensboro NC then back to Salem. Likely 2+ days.
Your best option is to go there. The clerks don't typically answer the phones. The postmaster is usually stuck on the phone with his bosses or handling customers that actually go there.
Tuesday Sunday doesn't count
Questions here don't go to the post office itself, but you can get more info asking an employee inside. They should be able to track it down.
Take the package to the post office
It get there when it doez
