Took a CPR class today at Red Cross in Allentown. First of all, the class was very detailed and well taught. However, the instructor Edward asked before the 6 hour class even began if anyone had physical limitations to practicing the CPR. I expressed the concern that I had back surgery less than 3 weeks ago and was told accommodations could/would be made. (Had to take this class for work so I could keep my license...not optional or I would have left.) after 3 hours of class and practicing cpr, not being able to bend all the way to the floor to give rescue breaths, I turned to Edward for direction in which I was told if I don’t practice on the FLOOR that I couldn’t pass the class I paid $120.00 for and already stayed 3 hours??? Isn’t that something you should make students aware of BEFORE they spend 3 hours in class? Not to mention later in the lesson, we were told how CPR (obviously) can be given on ANY flat, and hard surface. Why I wasn’t able to practice on a chair/table etc is beyond me. What accommodations did he mean at the very beginning, I’m not exactly sure but I’m very displeased and physically hurting S a result. This class was supposed to teach us how to care for others and put them in our best interest yet as a lifelong learner taking this class, my concerns/needs were not even taken into consideration. I was taken to a separate room where I flopped like a fish on the floor with 3 herniated discs and a broken rib just to reach the dummy’s mouth to give rescue breaths, Doing WAY more than 2 sets of compressions and rescue breaths (more than the other students) just so I could keep my license as a massage therapist. I will never be attending another Red Cross CPR class and hope Edward can “accommodate” future learners much better than I was treated today.

This depends on the location in both areas and traffic, but approximately 1 and a half hours. I would check google maps for the specific locations you will be traveling to and from but keep in mind that traffic patterns will fluctuate throughout the day.
Red cross does not do this. Try the police dept
