Was SA'd by a staff member when involuntarily admitted after trauma-induced mental break back in 2015 in Owens. Therapist did nothing and fellow patients teased me about it for weeks afterwards saying how I should be glad it happened because she was hot. I'm in a better place now no thanks to this organization.

Was a patient here in 2005. Intake was very rough. Not kidspeace fault I'm assuming intake is usually scary. What was traumatic was when I was told that I would never leave until I prove that I wasn't going to kill myself. The only way I could prove that was to show them by being let out. Logic told me that what the man was telling me was that I would never be released from this place. I was discharged a week later because I was inconsolable and they couldn't help me. If I wasn't told that I would never leave I probably would have calmed down and they might have been able to help me.

I went here years ago and not surprised nor shock to see that even 10yrs later it’s still a horrible place. Its bad that when 10yrs pass you still remember the impact a place has on you.

Started going there since I was in third grade till the age of 17 best and worst decision my family made had a lot of anger and depression hated everyone on the planet and had nothing but hate and aggression. Some of the staff actually care and some did it for the money. This place made me wise and understand how life really is learned how to read other patients and knew exactly how and what kind kind of person they where some of the doctors where not good at all when it came to meds gave me pills that did not go well with other pills and made me flip out ended up taking it out on the staff and made a lot of staff quit there job. Kid peace is not a job for people who just want money cause there are some people like me who have so much anger no patience and depression that will do anything at anytime just case I was that person my whole stay and been in and out of that place for a lot of year. Even been in your residential program and it was a better experience compared to the hospital. I give 3 stars cause my experience was good and bad good part is I went people I talk to on the outside even tho there is no love letters or numbers to go around bad part where really just me as human being with a lot of problems taking it out on everone staff and patients and doctors who just want to give you pills with out even thinking about combination and effects. Kidpeace and any mental hospital, residential group home or foster care felt like home for me cause my source of problems was my blood family. Thanks kids peace for have the staff that I was around different time that helped me the programs never help for me talking to them help a mature me forsure since I 9 -10 years of age just had to much anger to control . Took me to the age or 17 to calm down and change me to the person I am today .

What unit were u on ?
Unfortunately, KidsPeace is untouchable. I know of a judge in Lehigh County that's tried for 10 years to get them shut down, and even he can't. That place is a nightmare!

Are previous clients allowed to stop by?
Yes. They may tell you your child is doing something else but 9/10 you should be able to.
Yes, but it would be against medical advice.
Don't know. Its best if you call and ask the hospital.
Nope, you're in there with two people
Shortest it can be is three days, but you have to be 14 and older to sign yourself out. Most people are there for a week.
