The teller I worked with was very friendly. The only thing not making this a 5 was the wait...over an hour.

Great service and fast friendly customer service

The branch manager, Ms. Stephens, is excellent - professional, courteous, and understanding. I had a difficult experience with Kia Finance in obtaining the power of attorney to register my leased vehicle. Thankfully, there are still great customer service professionals (such as Ms. Stephens) that seem to take pride in doing their job. Kudos to her for doing a wonderful job, and for just being a good human being!

This was the fastest visit I've ever had to a Tag Office. I arrived during the lunch hour on a Friday, usually one of the busiest times, and was done in less than 10 minutes total. The employees behind the counters were knowledgeable, courteous, and kept things moving right along. REALLY appreciate the efficiency.

You will need your Georgia driver's license or ID card, the renewal notice you received in the mail, and an emission test done on the vehicle (if applicable).
That is the Department of Driver's Services. https://dds.georgia.gov/

Department of Driver's Services. Whichever is more convenient. You will need to go onto their website for a complete listing of official documents needed. You'll need more than just the other state's license.
No, that is at the Dept of Driver Services (DDS)
You can pick up a new county name sticker at any Gwinnett tag office at no charge.
Yes you can...but there is a process...but yes...you can do the aplication online as well...is called Duplicate title or Replacement...not surw
You need a certified copy. If you were born in GA, then go to any state health dept to obtain one. It shouldn't cost more than $5 to $10. You'll need it sooner or later anyway.
Moved from Paulding to Gwinnett Can’t use the kiosk because Paulding isn’t registered. What do I need to have my renewal registration updated with the correct information?
Appointments are not required, but you're more than welcome to make one if you prefer.
The office is closed today, but the kiosk is in the front door alcove and says 24/7.
No, all tag offices are open 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday - Friday, extending to 6 p.m. Wednesdays.
Please visit https://www.peachpass.com/. Our offices deal with motor vehicle titling and registrations.
If you had the permanent (blue) hanging placard, it can be replaced with no charge or new doctor's note required. If you had the temporary (red/orange) placard, a new MV-8 or doctor's note is required (also no charge).
This is a tag office/DMV - we deal with title and registration of vehicles. If you're looking for driver's licenses, that's the Department of Driver's Services. https://dds.georgia.gov/
I believe they give you a month extension if you failed emissions. Don't remember if you have to bring in the failed test or not.
If the address is still in Gwinnett County, yes. There are several ways we can update the registration for you: https://gwinnetttaxcommissioner.publicaccessnow.com/MotorVehicle/ChangeofAddress.aspx If the address was in another GA county, we will need to see proof of residency in Gwinnett.
8500 is the limit for emissions requirement. In my experience just pay it! Once I had to take my 9000 excursion to be inspected. 16 years
Yes you can. You can even start the process online. Georgia.gov transfer out of state license
We have Saturday hours (8-5) at our Lawrenceville branch on South Perry Street.
Address proof, ID ( State Id or license ) and vehicle registration. However please note that last week they were closed because of COVID-19 quarantine. So you can try Norcross office if going this week.
Emissions and insurance too
Bill of sale was all I needed. Out of state (NC) needed to be notarized but if licensed in GA didn't need to be. You'll need insurance and possibly emissions info.
Yes you can.
If the vehicle is registered in your name you should be able to scan the barcode that's on the back of your driver's license at the kiosk to get your decal.
No
Make a point
Call them
Registration and emmision results
If you are simply renewing your tags they do have a 24 hr kiosk. Just bring your license, renewal notice, or type in the tag number.
Emissions

I would call the tag office but I.bet you can print one off
No.

Go to the Department of Driver Services (DDS), not the Tax Commisioner's office. The closest DDS office to this one would be 310 Hurricane Shoals Rd NE, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
There is paperwork. I believe it's online. I'd call to confirm
Essence is correct in that a standard tag costs $20; however, there is also $18 fee to transfer your title to Georgia, and new residents are required to pay a one-time title ad valorem tax of 3% on the value of the vehicle. With the vehicle identification number (VIN), you can get an estimate online: https://eservices.drives.ga.gov/?Link=TAVTEst
Not a question but yes you do
Yes, you just need to bring an MV-9D filled out by your doctor. https://gwinnetttaxcommissioner.publicaccessnow.com/MotorVehicle/DisabledPersonsPlacardsandPlates.aspx
If you still own the vehicle, taxes are due whether or not it's operable.
To start off with have ur car inspected before you go to the tag office, along with your renewal registration that you received in the mail prior to ur upcoming birthday drivers license and proof of insurance all of these documents may not be required but good to have good luck Phil
If I am not mistaken , I believe all prestige license plates are mailed to you. I doubt any tag offices here does them on site . I know from prior experience that all three of mines was mailed to me. Hope this helps.
That is the Department of Driver's Services. https://dds.georgia.gov/
As Vanessa stated, it depends on how/where it was purchased. Please visit our website for more specific info: https://gwinnetttaxcommissioner.publicaccessnow.com/MotorVehicle/GeneralTitling/RegisteraRecentlyPurchasedVehicle.aspx
That is the Department of Driver's Services. https://dds.georgia.gov/
Start by getting a Georgia driver's license from the Department of Driver's Services, then please visit our website for a list of what's needed to register the vehicle(s): https://gwinnetttaxcommissioner.publicaccessnow.com/MotorVehicle/GeneralTitling/RegistermyVehicleifImNewtoGeorgia.aspx
It depends on the vehicle values, but there are title fees, tag fees, and a one-time 7% title ad valorem tax that's due. https://gwinnetttaxcommissioner.publicaccessnow.com/MotorVehicle/GeneralTitling/RegistermyVehicleifImNewtoGeorgia.aspx
You can come into one of our tag offices and make this change, but there will be a fee for the new tag.
There's a complete list of what you would need on our website: https://gwinnetttaxcommissioner.publicaccessnow.com/MotorVehicle/GeneralTitling/ReplacementTitle.aspx
No but if you are renewing your tag, you can use the kiosk located just inside the foyer. You need your driver's license (or the license of the owner of record) Fast and easy. Only takes debit/credit, not cash.
You get one free address change per license cycle (before you have to renew). I did it online, and they mailed the new one to me. Go to DDS website to complete.
Go to DMV and request copies and explain. I imagine you probably can update your address online but if you are getting close to your birthday it may serve you better to go in person (have emissions done and be prepared to pay).
Yes, and the insurance company should transmit the info to the State database.
No, that is the department of driver services, or DDS. There's one in Lawrenceville.
Mopeds don't generally require a DL. It depends on size of the engine. Go to the website just to be sure.
For motor vehicle transactions, we accept cash, personal checks, money orders, Discover, MasterCard and Visa. American Express is accepted online only.
The Tag Office does not handle that. Go to the Georgia Department of Driver’s Services website for more info. https://dds.georgia.gov/
Bill of sale, license and utility bill or something
You have to have a form filled out by your doctor
As Beth stated, you can have someone do it in your place with a Power of Attorney. We do have an office open 8am-5pm Saturday, too though if that's more convenient. It's in Lawrenceville on South Perry Street.
You have to go to the tag office with a copy of the death certificate. They can take care of it from there. Good luck to you!
Yes, visit www.GwinnettTaxCommissioner.com. You will need to have the emissions done first (if applicable for the model year) and insurance must be in the system.
There is a document to download or can get it there. If you don't do anything, then you won't be able to use the tag on another vehicle. That's all.
You can mail them in or drop them off in the box located outside the DMV
No. Visit https://www.peachpass.com/.
The title would have to be changed to reflect the new color. Now if, for example the change is from a light red to a few shades darker, then you are prob ok. However if you haven't changed the color yet, I would definitely go to website or go and find out. If you didn't change the title and should have, it will cause issues when you try to sell the vehicle or even get a ticket (because the tag won't match the car).
No. This is for tags. You need the DDS (Department of Driver's Services).
Go to the DMV and request a new one. They will void the lost and issue a new.
title, proof of insurance and emissions
You can go to any Gwinnett tag office and bring Bill of sale, driver's licence and some kind of proof of insurance. Bring as much information as you can related with your vehicle. Nice day!!
