Hampton Inn Ft. Walton Beach

We booked 4 nights, 2 connecting rooms on the second floor, we received a call that our rooms were moved down stairs for some reason. Secondly and most importantly, They charged our card 1300.00 over the price that was quoted to us. The amounts that they charged were doubled for each room which caused us so much discomfort and confusion. Instead of acknowledging and addressing our concern, the manager treated us so different from other guests because how we looked, we are Us citizen and originally from the Middle East…We didn’t feel welcomed or respected into this place by her. The minute the previous guest checked out, the manager face and demeanor changed as she is getting ready to have totally different attitude. When I asked her about the 1300.00 over charged, she raised her voice saying“ maybe you aren’t used to that size of a hotel, that is why the charge is surprising to you” how insulting and condescending to my heritage!! when I tried to defend my self, She clapped her hands to me as I was a Dog or a servant while she is leaving the counter. we stayed in Disney Floridian, palm beach Gaylord, those are very luxury hotels, we know and can distinguish between luxury and great customer service VS very poor one .. she is so unprofessional, She is not fit for that position. Hilton definitely Needs to up skill when hiring. Even the breakfast that is part of our stay at Hampton, had no taste, and served in an area with no direction , very small space, and not clean.

The hotel and especially our room, was right on the beach. This made our stay very comfortable. I definitely wouldn’t have taken an Uber several times daily. It was awesome to have access to the shower and rest our room provided in between the sun and the rain. Breakfast was great each morning. However, I was charged a parking fee without having a car. The hotel was very dated and didn’t have regular TV. The pool was also much smaller than expected.

Very good location and excellent staff. Nicole was such professional for customer care with her smile. Parking lot and overall service were flawless. However a bit high pricing compared to the building conditions. I am willing to revisit when it’s off season. Note. Guests need to recognize how it will be challenging to keep the rooms and aisle cleaned because of nature of location next to the beach. My 2 cents

Very convenient spot, right on the beach. It's not far from food, fun & attractions. Clean, breakfast was great & most importantly all the staff was friendly which is a plus for me being that I work in hospitality. My daughter loved the walk down the hallway because it gave us a chance to race. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.
