I am a patient and realizing that caring for old, crippled, sick, depressed, grumpy people is not an easy task, I have to say this place is very good at it. The people are top notch, the care is excellent.

From my personal experience as a patient/client during my recovery and rehabilitation, I found the facility to be clean and well-maintained, the staff friendly and helpful, the nurses caring, competent and professional -- and the food to be diverse and well-prepared. Overall, an excellent experience and one for which I am grateful and appreciative.

I have a friend who has been in this place for several years. When he first got there the care was amazing, staff who really understood and cared about veterans. Most of those employees are gone now, and it's a new face every day, people who don't know anything about veterans and don't care. Medicare.gov gave this place a one star quality of resident care rating in September, "much below average" in their words. Don't take your loved ones there.

If you take your family member there for care, have things in order regarding burrial procedures etc...because they are just waiting for your loved one to die. There were several nurses that were caring but far and few between. I caught one nurse laughing at my father, and once when coming in for a visit he was just about naked in bed while the nurses were out at their desk chatting up a storm. Once a nurse saw entering back into his room after looking for help she followed me in and then decided to get him dressed. Complaints fall on deaf ears. Lack of care is an A+ Caring for your loved one is a D-. I can imagine one of those nurses replying "at least it's not an F." Believe they are that cruel and rude.
