The chocolate souffle is to die for!! I didn't have anything else because I was in the mood for something sweet and boy did this hit the spot! The staff was very friendly and the ambiance of this French restaurant is so cute. I also had an espresso that tasted wonderful and perfectly complemented my dessert.

Disappointment. A huge disappointment. A real insult and an affront to French cuisine. Why ? The food and service were more than mediocre. Far, very far from the quality of a REAL French restaurant. I'm French and used to real French restaurants in Paris and Lyon so I know what I'm talking about. Dear Americans, if you plan to taste the real French cuisine that has made us famous throughout the world, go your way. We are here in an establishment where there is distressing mediocrity, both in the kitchen and in the dining room. The service is of a pitiful quality. We are light years away from good taste and French elegance. When paying the bill, we had the very unpleasant experience of being reproached by the waiter and then by the owner's wife for not having left a tip. Dear Mr. Manager, let's be clear: your cooking and the service of your staff did not deserve a $1 tip. Do your servers depend on tipping customers are supposed to give them? In this case, pay them accordingly. At the price you sell your dishes, you can probably pay your staff handsomely. According to your wife, in America, this is not done. I had to ask him: is it a suggestion or an obligation to tip here? Because yes, the manager's wife came right back to our table to reproach us for not having left a tip. But do you think the performance deserved a tip? Let's clarify things right away: we paid $75 in this restaurant, which with the current inflationary context, literally corresponds to €75. Mr. Manager who is French: for what we ate, 75€ is already a very high sum. Yes, I can assure you because apparently what happens in France seems to be lacking: in France, we would have paid almost twice as much for an equivalent meal, including in Paris. I take the liberty of specifying that you served us for 75€, two plates of Milanese escalopes (served with crisps, which is not done in France…), two glasses of table wine (a wine which is mediocre ) and two coffees. You seem to be totally disconnected from French catering at the moment: seventy-five euros for that is overpriced. Second, we were far, far away from a "good French meal and French service". Finally, I would like to remind you that your charming wife took the liberty of coming to take us back to the table, reproaching us for not having left a tip. In France, this is already highly and extremely rude. I have never been so disrespected as in your establishment. During my stay in New York, I left tips at other establishments, except yours. Because yours is the only one that deserved none. Your prices are totally disconnected from the quality of your cooking. Your wife has taken the liberty of telling us that in France, the "tip" is included in the price. A lie and behavior of indescribable indecency. The habits and customs of France must seem distant to you. Mr. Manager, telling your wife that "tipping is included in the price of the bill in France" is absolutely wrong. Maybe you should come back to Paris to see it. Trying to make the two French people that we are swallow that was extremely clumsy and disrespectful, even insulting on the part of your wife. Big disappointment. Especially coming from a French manager. Moreover, being French yourself, you could have had the elegance to come and discuss it with us in person. An absolute lack of respect, bordering on racketeering. It is obvious that I am not congratulating you. The only "French" restaurant we've been to in NYC, and the worst restaurant we've been there. Saddening to cry. It goes without saying that I do not congratulate you, nor for your cooking, and even less for your respect for customers.

Is Pascalou open evening of July 4?

I don't think so, it's usually the week that they are on vacation. Call to be sure, most of the neighborhood is away for the holiday.
