It's very rare for me NOT to have a solid opinion about my experiences in life. My experience at benihana restaurant is the first time where I'm in conflict. I'm not sure how I felt about the actual making, artfully playing and distributing of the food right in front of my eyes. I spoke about it to a friend and she shared with me that benihana can be an introvert's nightmare. She simply stated it's not something that has been studied but something that she feels, so I think I'm on that boat as well. It just wasn't for me and this is not to reflect the service or the atmosphere it was just something that I had to try once and it didn't resonate with having the food served with a show in front of my eyes where everyone is breathing down on it. I feel if you're an extrovert this experience would be something that may resonate with you.

Lots of rice, little meat or fish too expensive for what you get but once in a lifetime to try

Great family dinner celebrating my nephew returning home from the U of Michigan engineering school. Rupak gave us a show and perfectly cooked my filet mignon, veggies and fried rice!

To start, the food was just ok. It lacked in seasoning and flavor. The steak was a very cheap quality and our waiter was terrible. He didn’t come the whole time after originally taking our orders to ask how we were doing so we were almost choking with no water or soda refills while we ate and the food was really dry. I had to chase down another waiter who claimed this wasn’t his table and left but when I chased the same waiter down again later on, he finally got the manager who did absolutely nothing to help us other than get our original waiter who ran away from me when I was once again trying to order a soda and had a horrible attitude the rest of the time and when we finally were able to get sodas, they were of terrible quality, flat, just gross. I will never go back there again. There are way better hibachi places in the city.

No you don't need reservations, but it is definitely better to have them a shorter wait.
They will initially try to pair you with other diners to fill the table of 8-10 people. But they will cook in front of smaller numbers if they don't have enough people.
That have outdoor dining and take out
Normal operating hours on Christmas Day, 1130 am to 11pm
You can enroll online, and they will send you a voucher a week before the birthday month through email. This voucher can be used towards $30 once during the entire birthday month from Monday to Thursday.
So sorry I don't know food is real good but it's very pricey. Also dey add their tip to 20%. Jus to let u know.. just two adults and a child my bill was $220 dats crazyyyy
Not sure. But they did ask to see people's vaccination cards.
No, there's a parking lot near by.
I was told, if you renewed through Chef's table last year, you can use your coupon/promotion this year. Next year the 56th street location in NYC WILL NOT accept birthday promotions.
Yes, at every NYC restaurant
Yes must have a reservation
No. It is American/Tepanyaki, its a Japanese fusion restaurant that they cook in front of you.
Google their phone number & give them directly a call. This place is AWESOME. Superior quality of food. Everything is fresh & cooked right in front of you + cooking show included, excellent customer service, friendly employees, oriental interior design, clean restrooms, private party rooms available. It's definitely worth your money. I been there a few times and I have never been disappointed.👌👌👌❤ IT'S A DESTINATION TO VISIT FOR SURE ! ☝️👍👍👍🙂
They cook it right in front of you. They will season it as you want. I myself got it without butter, they used oil. If there's something you don't want just tell them to leave it off. It does traditionally come with things like rice that you may have to do without.
Our chef wasnt Japanese either but I can surely say, he made it with lots of love because we were all content...we even took our left overs home. It is definitely pricey but was worth it for us
If it's on the weekend, you need to book, it's ok during the week
Paid parking garages are around Central Park
There are several parking garages within east walking distance
The show is at your table. Each table holds 8-10 people, so parties are sometimes put together.
If they didn't say it enough ....MAKE RESERVATIONS!! but u can still walk in
No, there is a parking lot next door but you've got to pay to park there.
Reasonable prices for lunch. Very good lunch menu selection also.
The prices are decent, not cheap. All depends on if you're a drinker or not. The prices can escalate rather quick with alcoholic beverages.
We were 3, shared a table with another family of 4.
You can where what you want....just not your bday suit....
That question should probably be posed directly to the restaurant rather than to the Google community.
The F train
It does, but you'll have to book a reservation
You tell them we have a birthday to celebrate out loud but if you want it to be a surprise tell them their ear.
Yes cake balloons u can bring them both
Pricing depends on whether you're having lunch (about $25 per person) or dinner there. Both are equally fabulous with larger options for dinner. Their website will give you exact pricing.
No they don't lol
