Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place

Beautiful hotel on the river, adjacent to a nice river walk to a playground and restaurants. We stayed in a roomy suite that had enough space for a pack and play and toddler mattress. The hotel breakfast was great! ($15 per adult and $8 per child buffet, but we got vouchers because there was no breakfast at the lounge for our Marriott membership status). Speaking of which the lounge was LOVELY. Riverfront views, fancy coffee machine, all the usual lounge snacks, and my husband loved the sparkling water on tap. Parking garage on site but you have to pay for it. My one critique is during off seasons (like summer) you shouldn’t have to pay because it was very empty.

This hotel is generally nice. Nice views of the mountain and lake and nice rooms even but I really do not like the bathrooms. I do not like the sliding door and there is little privacy in the bathroom. The staff is very nice. In the dining room, I wish they would have some gluten free bread in the back for celiac or gluten free guests! If you are looking to stay here for something related to the university, it is very very close!

Right on the water front next to the riverside trail. A couple of minutes walk to several restaurants and a quick drive to anything else in the area. The rooms were huge with great views. Huge modern TV, which let me connect to Netflix and other streaming services. Bathroom was was nice with a large dual head shower. Water pressure was great, would definitely stay here again.

Really good hotel; friendly staff. Clean, well-kept rooms. I like the hardwood floors in the room--no dirty carpets! Parking garage is a long walk (with an inside corridor). Consider dropping off your guests and bags before parking. Definitely a recommended, excellent hotel. I only have two cautions below. Caution --> The hot water in my 7th floor room was dangerously hot! Scalding I would say. Be careful with seniors and young children. Caution --> No grab bars in bathtub/shower! Again, big danger for seniors or anyone with mobility issues. Inexcusable for Marriott not to provide these for stability and safety. Seniors, beware!
