I went to look at a used boat and salesperson was not helpful at all. I made an offer on the boat and the seller was a private party and he did not even give them my offer. It would help if they also put model number on their website since you could do research on price before you got there. If I was the seller I would sell it on craigslist even though you might have more fake people. My offer was only 200 below the price listed on boat tag.

Poor customer service do not recommend, they refused to helicoil my lower unit fill plug after I told them countless times to do so. Took 2 weeks to find out they were refusing the service on it. So now I have a boat sitting in the rain with no plugs and a garbage bag over the lower unit to help keep the moisture out until I have the time to do the work myself. Sorry I just refuse to believe I need to spend a few thousand dollars on a lower unit because of stripped out threads on a fill plug, when the unit works just fine. Pfftt they couldn't even give me back the drain plug that wasn't even stripped out. First time ever taking my boat anywhere, and im extremely disappointed.

absolutely not.. I bought a boat earlier this year it didn't want to start or run..I took it to mapleton marine have them check it out and rebuild the carbs.. after 2 weeks of it being there and not hearing anything I stopped and was told it would be ready by friday June 26. so i stop in on that Friday to pay for the repair. And was told at that time the boatvwas ready to go but it needed reed valves but ran okay just a little rough and that it backfired once.. I asked if it was running good enough to use and was told yes. then after that the person helping ran out side really quick to ask the mechanic for sure and came back in and said yes its ready.. right after I got done paying another guy ran into the building saying my boat was not ready and was all apart yet. so I turned and asked so the boat isn't going to be ready and I was told I will be ready by 5 pm keep in mind it was 4 pm already so I said okay. i got there to pick up my boat at 530 pm I had to trim the motor up for transporting the trim didn't work os I pulled the cover off the motor to see if anything there was the problem I seen some of the safety stitches just hanging there not hooked up and also seen that one of the bolts looked like it was cross treaded so I went in and told the guy about everything he came out and got a wrench and said it was just loose and wasn't stripped out i also told him I would hook up the safety switches not a problem. I get it home and hooked up the safty switch and looked at that bolt again i was able to pull the bolt out with my fingers.. Keep in mind when I want back into the office and told him what I found i turned my phone on to record so I have audio of the whole conversation.. I tried starting the boat it would start and right away backfire through the exhaust. I was disappointed but I let the boat sit for a few days. On Sunday the 28 I desided to check a few things out my self. I found 2 of the coils where wired wrong so i fixed that and the boat started and ran but was rough. I took the boat back over on june 30th after work and told them what I had found and they said they would adjust the carbs and look everything over.. On july 2nd I called them and was told the boat was done and everything checked out good and was ready to go.. I told them I couldn't pick it up until Friday July 3rd after work and I was told where it was and it was ready to go.. I picked up the boat on the 3rd after work in mapleton marine and drove right to Janesville and put it in the lake. I unloaded the boat and then primed the motor and started it. the boat started and didn't run to bad so I backed away from the laoding dock and started out into the lake after i got into deeper water i opened the boat up i got about 600 yards out and looked down and watch the temp guage go from c to as far as it could past hot. by the time i could turn the motor off it had died. I floaded back towards the shore and as I got close someone offered to pull me back in. the water pump wasn't pumping water at all.. i loaded the boat up and brought it home i let the boat sit until sunday the 5th and took a compression test and found that one of the cyclinder was dead and only had 30 pounds of compression.. On Monday july 6th I stopped back in and got into a heated argument and he got pretty rude. they told me it worked just fine when they ran it. I asked how it can go out from mapleton to Janesville and he said it happens all the time.. I got home pretty upset 😡 my son asked if it was working when we test fired it after fixing the coils. I told him I have no idea i don't know much about this motor. He then said well we took a video and we should look. I took that video to a very big boat deal and repair shop in North West Iowa seeing as i worked down there on Tuesday and asked if he could give me his thought on how it ran. the mechanics watch the video and the first words out of his mouth was dont run it the pumps out. then a proceeded to tell him the store and he there is no way it was working. I now have a 150 horse outboard that is junk because it wasn't check

Working with Josh was great! Answered all my questions before and after the purchase of new boat. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Great service from the entire staff. Extremely happy with my new boat purchase. I would recommend friends to consider next boat purchase from Mapleton Marine.
