This is a great spot for camping, fishing, swimming, celebrations and to get away for a little downtime. It is well-kept and has been modernized. I have never camped here personally, but have had friends and family who have given great feedback. There is a cabin available if you prefer more privacy or don't have a camper, etc. There's a really fun little playground area as well. Accomodations for fishing, with a little spot to buy bait, etc. My 13 yo son loves to fish here with friends & I have no reservations about leaving them for a couple hours to get away from their screens and get "back to nature" π Definitely recommend!!

A very nice well kept park. Parents should teach their kids campground courtesy. As not to walk through other peoples campsites. But that isnt the campgrounds fault. Showers are scalding HOT though. And the cable in site #3 didnt work. Not enough to bother me. Im camping anyways. I would say it is the nicest campground I have camped in for a few years.

We were needing a place close to Spencer to attend the Clay County Fair and found this wonderful campground within 8 miles. Very clean, quiet, and next to a lake.

There couldn't be a better camp area than our beloved Scharnberg! The online booking seems to be hard, but that's an issue at a much higher level. Get here on a Monday if you want a spot or book it online way ahead. No parks have drive-up availability always anymore, so plan ahead.

Yes LANA ,is sponsoring a sober New Year's Eve party in the largest cabin on 12/31/18 beginning at 3PM till????. Soup and fixings are being served. Bring your sober friends and join the party!
Full hook up site is $25 a night and had buy 6 nights get 1 free. Electric and water only is $20 a night and buy 6 get 1. You can only stay for 14 days then you have to leave for 24 hrs before you can come back.
$5/hour for the boats. Haven't anything about the itch in awhile but it can be prevented by simply showering when done swimming
$20 a day for electric, cable, and water or $25 a day for full hook up...Can buy a coupon book from the host and pay $120 for 7 days but have to pay the extra $5 if in a full hookup site. You can also only stay in your site for 2 weeks and then have to move to a different site
When we were there it was from 12:30 to 7pm I believe
What dose it cost per night to rent cabin?
Their Facebook page said "all amenities" so I would assume so
Yes you have go in person to setup your site. Pay ahead and keep a vehicle or tent on site.
Last time I went swimming there with my dogs, there was a self-contained horse trailer that people were using at one of the RV spots.. shouldn't be a problem
Its first come first serve. No reservations allowed
Yes. It has tent camping. On the south side of the park. I have a camper myself but ive seen many tents there. The price im not sure. Hope this helps. Been there many times.
A coupon book is for a full 7-Day stay. And to obtain 1 you have to go to the hostess camper which is at the front when you first pull in it has a Hostess sign in the yard it will be on the right where the ice machine is.
