It's been 14 years since I've used Mr Brewster and his staff services for the funeral of my mom. However the experience, time, care, empathy and concern Mr Brewster took me with I will never forget.

I had the honor of working a funeral with Crowes today and have worked with them for several others as well in the past. I'm always amazed at the care they show to the family and all involved. I've worked with countless funeral homes all over NY and NJ and Crowes is by far, one of the best. Chaplain Brewster is an absolute pleasure to work with and to talk with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Crowes to anyone! It's as if he's laying his own loved one to rest!

It has taken me almost six months to write this review because it concerns the passing of my beloved mother Mrs. Doris “The Matriarch” Massey. When I received the telephone call shortly after leaving the hospital that my mother had transitioned; I was hurt beyond belief by the news. Needless to say, Mom and I had talked and pre-planned her funeral services with Crowe’s Funeral Home of Jamaica Queens, New York several years prior. I called the aforementioned funeral home to have my mother’s remains picked up and spoke to Ms. Christina Millwood. She had created the initial pre-plan for my mother’s funeral services several years prior to her demise. Ms. Millwood was so professional and kind to say the least. Once my mom had arrived at the funeral home, I received a courtesy call from Ms. Millwood and made an appointment with Chaplain Kenneth Brewster to create a celebration of life service for Mom. From the moment my sister and I entered Crowe’s funeral home, we were treated like family, given the utmost respect and treated with the greatest levels of professionalism. Not only did Chaplain Brewster honor the pre-planning prices made three years prior to her passing, but they also gave us exceptional add-ons at cost, and added additional services at no cost to us at all. At no time during mom’s celebration of life planning services did I feel pressured toward increase-pricing of other items. As I had request, I was informed of what was available to me and only what they could ensure to create the most memorable home-going services. Unfortunately, Mom had taken a terrible fall prior to her demise and I was concerned about how that would impact her being viewed during the wake and viewing-visitation service prior to the celebration of life funeral service. Needless to say, Chaplain Kenneth Brewster and Ms. Ebony Smith, assured me that Mom would be placed in more than capable hands. When I walked into Crowe’s Funeral Home to review Mom’s remains and finalize the home-going celebration; my sister and I were brought to tears at how amazingly beautiful, elegant, regal and stately our mom “The Matriarch” looked. Our Mom, Mrs. Doris Massey looked like she was merely taking a nap. I immediately requested to know who had restored and dressed my Mom for the services. I was informed that Ms. Clarke was the primary consultant for Mom. Before we knew it, we gave her a big hug and thanked her for such a stellar job. From that moment on, I nicknamed her “The Magic.” Ms. Johnette Clarke’s mortuary skills allowed her to restore my Mom back to her former beauty for which my family and I are eternally grateful and thankful. Additionally, a special thanks goes out to Ms. Ebony Smith who catered to all my incidentals behind the scenes: from the printing of the obituary, the exquisite execution of the thank you cards, the placing of flowers and her award-winning smile. Overall, the entire staff is par excellence and helped us prior to the funeral but well beyond the funeral services. Lastly, Chaplain Kenneth Brewster is premier in his dissertation as a funeral director. I’d like to say that he really takes the time to understand what your needs are and assist you at creating a celebration of life that your deceased loved one would be more than happy with and those surviving will love. Again, thank you all for everything that you did to ensure my mom (our Matriarch) looked-like herself and she as well as the surviving was treated as royalty in your care. Thank you, Dr. Robert A. Massey, D.Min., PhD Hospice Chaplain Practitioner

Hi. In conjunction with the services Crowe's offered various floral arrangements. Some of the arrangements were "bundled" ie.floor basket and casket piece. We were shown several sets of arrangements and were quite satisfied with our selection.
