Buyer Beware! Bought an 11.4kw system the but the system only produces 9kW. Because they used inverters (IQ8+) that limit each of my 30 380w solar panels to a maximum of 290VA. This is an automatic 23% loss in power. But if you read in the contract they don't tell you what kind of inverter they're going to install.

The salesman (Steve) was great, the installation and the associated crew were great. I am giving a 3 stars to split the difference. A 5 star for everything I just described, and a 1 star for everything that has come after. My panels were installed 4/4/22 and I have since failed 4 or 5 electrical inspections. Honestly I’ve lost count. It’s now mid October 2022. The electrical inspector that keeps failing them has told me on the last 3 attempts “they still didn’t fix the item I told them to fix” on the most recent inspection he literally said “I don’t know why they called me for inspection, this has not been touched since last time.” I have now been waiting 2 months since that last failed inspection and they keep telling me they can’t schedule anything because they are waiting on the city to renew our permits. I came home Friday and my master bed/bath is completely powerless and the breaker shows “on”. I flipped it a few times to try anything. Still nothing. If you are lucky enough to pass inspection, it’s a 5 star rating. If you have to deal with them at all after the install, it’s a circus. Additionally, One of the selling points was they give you a large check into your electric account to cover any overages while you only have to pay your solar panel loan. But it takes a month or 3 after your inspection clears for them to cut you that check. Well I’m still paying both bills. It took months of nagging my account rep to get my first reimbursement she promised, and the same for the second. Still waiting on the 3rd and 4th reimbursements to come through the mail now so I’m sure that will take more time, and I pay my 5th loan payment tomorrow.

They created a fire hazard when installing my solar energy system. We discovered it when we ran into other issues with the system in June 2022. They closed the ticket we opened without resolving any of the issues, including the fire hazard. Opened a new ticket and nothing has been heard from them since August 2022. No response to emails and further customer service calls

I had high hopes for this company and it all started out really well. The sales team was very professional, follow-up timely and were a pleasure to work with and little sales pressure. Once that process was complete, things started to unravel. I signed all the sales paperwork on 5-19-22 and awaited the start of the installation. I understand the process of needing permits to get the work performed so I tried to be patient. After following up with the project manager and calling the city independently, I found out what I had been told was not accurate. The company had not filed an application for installation and permits after all, which caused a delay. I attempted to follow the company's protocol of escalating the issue to their customer service area and then to an operations manager/director in Louisiana. After leaving both a message, I never received a phone call or email. The work was started August 4/5th and then an electrician came 2/3 weeks later. After failing the electrician's review, another crew was sent to the house (fairly quickly I must say) and was made ready for city inspection. Well the system failed inspection on 8-30-22 and to be fair it seems that it was tied mostly to the city inspector needing to understand the system better. I sit today nearly a month later and still awaiting for the electrician to meet with the city inspector so that I can start using the solar panels. If the company is listening to this message, you need to hire additional electricians that can be more responsive. I was told that some customers have waited over 6 months for their solar power to be turned on; hardly an excuse I would expect someone from ADT Solar to mention to me. Project management staff need additional training on proper construction management and follow-through with the various projects. Customer service management and directors need to follow-up on escalated concerns from their customers. I advised the PM on this job that I would be completing a review last Friday, 23rd of September. The response I received was a generic one that said someone from the customer success team would be reaching out to me. You would think a national company like ADT Solar would be on top of their game and attempting to reach out as they mentioned, but it has been silent all week. Nothing in junk mail, no calls and no emails from anyone in the service area. Let’s try this review on a bigger platform like Google now and see what kind of response I receive.

ADT Solar | Oct 20, 2021

With advantages like tax credits, mitigating the ever-increasing cost of electricity, and even selling back the power you don’t use to your power company (a process called net metering,) the savings alone are worth it! Oh, not to mention, with a battery backup – you can kiss those power outages goodbye!

Should I get a battery backup?

ADT Solar | Oct 20, 2021
ADT Solar | Oct 20, 2021

Solar battery backups can store the excess power your solar panels produce throughout the day, and will power your home throughout the night (thus reducing your power bill to nearly nothing.) Solar battery backups also provide energy independence which means you use all the power you produce and save yourself from the ever-fluctuating price of electricity. Battery backups can also protect you from power outages
