Went to see if I could get assistance with my energy bill.... they had me fill out paperwork and then told me to call Ms. Hill or Ms. Tuttle... when I spoke to Ms. Hill I was spoken poorly to. First thing said was that I should have already been asked certain questions and when I said I hadn't been I was still spoken to as an inconvenience! As though I should know or advice their staff on how to do their job. I haven't asked for help before so how would I know?! I'm sorry that I'm not aware of how this all works. I'm obviously in a hard situation and the attitude was definitely making it worse! I feel for people that have to approach for assistance and are treated so poorly! It's like kicking someone when they are already down! 😔 any tone of care or sympathy would have been accepted much better! But I guess I will figure it out or we will sit in the dark and heat! Did you know that they wont assist you unless child under 5 or adult over 60 OR disabled resides in the home?!?!... not a single mom with two kids! Absolutely insane to me!

If you sign up to the community services board in your county they will pay your deposit in full...most churches help.pay electric water and rent in full

Do y'all still have it to were y'all help people get a counselor and a shrink like some one to talk to about. Your problems and some one told me that your country pay your electric bill for 3 months and then we pay 3 months what program is that

I have no idea about the utilities program. They do provide councelling and they have a psychologist there as well. Not sure what the county provides.

Any churches or agenies help with rent?

The best thing to do would be to go into the office at the Community Services Board in Hanover County if that's the county you live in, sign in and request services. That's what I did.
