I just bought a teddy bear from there 2 weeks ago and mark had said it was due to supply and is what the going rate is at the present time. Said also 3 weeks ago the prices were lower then almost overnight prices shot up. I realize its probably not a great answer for you just what I was told.

The majority of puppy's of certain breeds do come from puppy mills or breeders. You can find a good breed of puppy by doing your homework and check out the breeder before making a purchase. Yes you can get certain breeds much cheaper by looking for a breeder, but I will tell you I've been to breeders that are right down nasty and dirty then I've been to reputable breeders who have wonderful set ups for breeding. You can also find a wonderful loving pet from shelters so check your local shelters around where you live in and around surrounding counties. But if your looking for a particular breed do your homework a reputable breeder won't mind showing you their establishment of where and how they keep and care for their dogs and Pups.

You would have to call the store to get that answer. Some places do allow you to do that but I don't know if this particular place does.
