Among Washington airports I prefer Dulles (IAD). Construction and traffic make Reagan unattractive. Flight availability decides the choice.

Train was unavailable. Shuttle bus was the only option for transport to Springfield-Franconia from airport. The trip was time consuming but comfortable.

Recent modernizations have helped improve this airport immensely. It's gone from outdated to a nice facility that's conveniently near the city.

No public metro parking. Only terminal parking for airport. 20$ daily and metro is open from 7am til 11pm
I would take taxi or Uber or lyft at night. During the day, the metro train is the best way. Crystal city itself is fairly safe though. It's only 1 or 2 stops. Everything is very close and the short train to Crystal city should be fine. Don't ride alone without others in the car
Station is open. Yellow line should be suspending service in a few days. Blue line will continue.
This airport is like 15 years behind in the “dropping off your checked bag” department. You gotta bring it to one of the X Ray stations after you get it tagged.
