Sad. Awful. A disgrace to US firearms history. And no, this isn’t a fake review from someone who hates guns. The “museum” sucks. The staff is lacking and rude. The exhibits are disorganized and have literally zero teachability. This is not a museum, it is a poorly displayed mess of firearms. Utterly embarrassing to be called a museum. Truly disrespectful to the heritage and history behind many of the high quality pieces that are displayed here. Skip this trip, not worth the traffic on 66.

If you love firearms this is a place you should put on your list. It was larger than I expected. Very nice collection of weapons new and old.

Best way is to call the NRA HQ number. DO NOT walk your antique rifles into the NRA museum.

Question: what happened to the Luger 45cal ACP Prototype?

Roy Jamerson | Oct 21, 2019
Darian Drake | Oct 21, 2019

Some of the firearms are "loans" for display so it is possible that it was returned. You could ask the docents when visiting (or perhaps call and speak with one?) as they were quite knowledge about the history of the firearms on display there.

Yes. Response from the NRA (posted by a moderator of the High Road forum): Thank you for your inquiry to the National Firearms Museum. If you are legal in Virginia, you are legal to carry concealed or open carry here in the museum galleries. Please note that we do not permit any photography at this point in time.
