I am going to be in town on Thursday, October 11 and would like to know if anyone in the library can direct to me a history of Brecks Lane. W. W. Laird rented his houses out for at least three generations. How and why?

I googled "house on brecks lane" and findingaids.hagley.org has information. I hope this helps

No, you do not.

What age group of children is best? I have a 5 year old and 7year old niece. Would it be something they would enjoy?

I don't have any kids but there were 1 or 2 in the group we were in, but they were a bit older (8~10). There is a lot of interactive experiences throughout the whole musuem like learning to write with a quill and ink, a black powder demonstration, some demonstrations of working machinery, etc. Children 5 and under are free, and each experience is optional. If you have a child who has issues with loud noises I suggest bringing some earphones for the black powder demonstration and machinery demonstrations. Hope this helps!

What info or pictures do you have regarding powder mills circa 1776? I am trying to find out more about the mills located at King Falls, on the Exeter river, in Exeter, NH. I would like to know more about what they looked like and how they operated.

It is a huge piece of land that belongs to the DuPont's. There is so much to see and it's more than just one area. It's very educational if you enjoy history
