I don't have any kids but there were 1 or 2 in the group we were in, but they were a bit older (8~10). There is a lot of interactive experiences throughout the whole musuem like learning to write with a quill and ink, a black powder demonstration, some demonstrations of working machinery, etc. Children 5 and under are free, and each experience is optional. If you have a child who has issues with loud noises I suggest bringing some earphones for the black powder demonstration and machinery demonstrations. Hope this helps!
Yes, there's a nice man that gives a tour and involves the children. The house tour may be boring for them so I don't recommend that for them.
My granddaughter loves going there since she was 5
