My husband, our kids (6 & 4 year olds) and I tried out this experience with Rattlesnake Randy and we were so happy we did! I wasn't sure how a 4 hr adventure with my kids would go but all in all, Randy did an amazing job keeping their attention and making it fun and entertaining for us all. I highly recommend booking with him if you're ever in SD. Bring water, snacks, and some wet wipes if you're bringing kids. They'll have even more fun if you bring kid size shovels/buckets. :)

Not even sure where to begin - but our family had the BEST time and this is an experience we won't ever forget. Randy is so knowledgable -we got little history/geology/geography/physics lessons throughout our experience and his energy is contagious. The time flew by and we found some gold!! 10/10 would highly recommend this experience to anybody and everybody. The Black Hills are amazing and I hope to come back one day - and when I do - you can be sure we will be gold panning with Randy again.

Thank you Rattlesnake Randy for the pure gold panning experience. I was a little worried when I found out the creek was dry, but Randy made sure we could all still experience a true panners expedition by having us use a rocker box. Everyone in our group found gold! From the minute we met Randy at Ft.Hayes til the last minute of our 4 hour expedition Rattlesnake Randy was personable, friendly, funny, helpful and very informative! If you are looking to experience what true gold panning is all about and pull YOUR own gold from the earth,look no further than Rattlesnake Randy! If your looking for an authentic gold panning experience in the middle of the Black Hills, look no further, Rattlesnake Randy is your man. We had a great time. He is a great guy and very personable. From the moment we met him at Ft Hays until our 4 hour adventure was over, he was nothing but nice, informative and accommodating. The water in the creek was way down so instead of cancelling our trip, he improvised and we did all the sluicing by hand. It really gave us the true 1800’s experience, and we found GOLD!! I highly recommend you add this experience to your list of must do’s in the Black Hills. Thank you Rattlesnake Randy and Grunt we had a great time and it was a pleasure to meet you both.
