Tim and Chandra provide SUPERIOR service!!! They are helpful, thoughtful, flexible, and knowledgeable. I wouldn't go anyplace else for my wheelchair van rental needs, and if we ever need to modify a vehicle, I'm coming here first. The relationship these two have established has made all the difference for me.

Attention to detail is required when performing inspections on ADA Compliant vehicles or someone could get hurt. My appointment time and date was confirmed by email 5 days prior and still entered into the system wrong. We were an hour early. I was told I missed my appointment until I mentioned the email confirmation. After the inspection completion, I was handed my keys by the service desk rep and told that everything looks good and since it's a fairly new vehicle there's nothing to worry about. I walked him out to the van, pointed out 3 things going wrong with the side door, rear hatch and converted second row seating. All three areas must be in tip top condition for handicap riders. The service rep told me that the repair responsibility more than likely belonged to the manufacturer and out of his hands. After questioning the rep he told me that the mechanic has gone to lunch and that we would need to wait another hour for him to return to inspect our vehicle again. We waited! After all, we did travel four hours to get here. When the mechanic returned from lunch, the service rep mentioned one out of the three issues to the mechanic and the mechanic replied that he couldn't help us because he did not hear the side door attempting to lock but never catching. This issue was already confirmed by one employee. The malfunction does not happen every time the door is open but it does happen pretty consistently. Consistent enough to be repaired. After reviewing the warranty and insisting on an inspection report, the service rep then made phone calls to confirm what his mechanics were supposed to do in the first place. All three things are covered under the purchased warranty AND required to be inspected and repaired by United Access and their partners. The converted hatch covered by warranty is breaking my tail light!!! Which is not covered by warranty. Did I mention that I had to have the service rep redo the inspection report because he wanted to leave that out. The day is now gone and we have to make another trip back into DFW for repairs. Disgusted. These van conversions are for the handicapped. Do your job! So that us drivers can keep them safe during transport. I'm not an inspector, mechanic or dealership service rep but I damn near had to be today. Stop offering inspections if you're not going to do them properly. You have a tdlr permit. You are required by law to do your job!! Unacceptable!

We bought our second accessible vehicle from Unites Access late last year. Destiny was incredible to work with and we are very pleased with our van purchase. I had an issue with the driver’s seat not being shaped the way I needed it to be and I was getting backaches from sitting in it over an hour. Shun and Destiny tried various options until I could sit comfortably again. They didn’t give up until it worked for me! Thanks to both of them for working so diligently to help make my van perfect for me!

Yes, purchasing a wheelchair van can be expensive. Finding funding for these purchases can be a challenge if you don’t know where to look. The Mobility Specialists at United Access are knowledgeable of all the rebate programs and funding options available to you when you are ready to purchase your next wheelchair van.
Yes. The Veterans’ Administration offers a one-time veterans automobile grant of $21,488.29 for 100% Service Connected Veterans that meet stringent guidelines. Veterans who are 100% Service Connected are eligible for two handicap vehicle conversions every four years or one every two years. Veterans that trade their modified vehicle in every two years typically have less out-of-pocket expense getting into a new wheelchair van than a veteran that trades at a later date. Veterans and service members can apply for the automobile and/or the special adaptive equipment grant by completing VA Form 21-4502. The Mobility Specialists at United Access work closely with the local VA offices to make sure we have the most up-to-date information to help you through this purchase.

No. The conversion of a van, truck or SUV into a wheelchair accessible vehicle does not change the typical warranty when you go through our conversion manufacturers (such as BraunAbility or VMI). If you are purchasing a new vehicle, the warranty works the same as if you purchased a non-converted vehicle. If you are purchasing a pre-owned vehicle, the warranty transfers to the new owner throughout the remaining life of the vehicle’s warranty.
You have to choose the wheelchair van that best fits your personal mobility needs and we would be happy to help!
A vehicle is converted through a process of removing the interior, lowering the floor and/or raising the roof and adding a ramp or a lift. Then, the technicians replace the seats, floor, etc. back into the vehicle and finally, the exterior is repainted. Watch this BraunAbility video for a demonstration of how a van is converted into a wheelchair accessible van.
A wheelchair-accessible van is a vehicle that has been modified by increasing the interior size of the vehicle and equipping it with a means of wheelchair entry, such as a wheelchair ramp or powered lift.
