I walk on this trail almost every day. You can see lots of animals (deer, rabbits, chipmunks, lots of birds) but you have to walk quietly. I even saw a crawdad that came up from the creek. The trail is steep in a few places and I would not recommend waking the trail at night. When raining, it’s slippery, so be careful. Be respectful and keep the trail clean.

It's a short ravine trail between two suburban streets. There are tall trees and ferns such that you don't feel like you're in a neighborhood. I saw a couple rest benches, which is nice because it is a bit steep in places. The bridge is cute. A good trail for older kids.

I've been hiking this trail since before it was officially a trail. We've been calling it "Fern Gulley" for over 20 years. I take the dog and he absolutely loves it!

The TH is off of Fern St in Tigard but not very noticable except for the the gravel and a chain between to poles. The trail itself is very nice and follows a creek through a mixed forest with a few giant trees before crossing a small bridge, crossing the creek and then beginning a good climb up the canyon towards Misltoe Rd where the trail ends. The trIl itself is about .70miles long and by using the misletoe trail (just a few hundred feet away next to the powerlines) you can create a nice 2 to 3 mile loop.

Hi Henry. It can however be sure to have a headlamp on as their are mutiple snags and roots exposed on the trail as you climb out of the canyon. Be wary also that access to the trail is along a dimly lit and forested residential street. Light colored or reflective clothing highly recommened to keep visible to evening commuter traffic which can be heavy in the area. Hope I helped and enjoy!
