If you have uninsured motorist coverage “UM coverage” on your own auto liability policy, then you can make a claim against your own insurer.
It still needs to be reported to the police and your own insurer and you'll need to get a police report. If there were witnesses, get their contact information to confirm that another vehicle was involved.
