Was a nice and tranquil place for a brisk fall walk. Would do it again just in warmer weather.

We recently had our wedding at Anderson! Working with Warren and his team was amazing. The staff was so accommodating and helpful! They were kind and a calming presence during our busy day! The gardens, needless to say, were stunning! Would highly recommend having your wedding here!
The Anderson gardens have their own restaurant to eat at and drinks. Plus they have a special occasion that they will cater to. Plus its fantastic food great service and is a beautiful garden to see. When my parents had their 50th-anniversary party in the gardens in a certain area that they allowed to be in. We also just had a funeral reception for my father at Anderson's garden which we were treated with great servers, magnificent food.Yes, they serve alcohol. If you rent a place for a special occasion yes you can have food in the place you rent. they provide you a canopy where you have your food to serve your company. My parents had their 50th anniversary. It was awesome. We took group pictures in the gardens. It's a magnificent place to go and visit with your family.
They do have a few in the gift shop, but this is an outdoor experience. If you look at their website they might have an event teaching about them. Or the Rockford Garden Center on bell school has a section of bonsai trees and supplies as well as a club that meets there. But if you've never been to Anderson gardens it's worth going especially when you have time to just sit and reflect at the various ponds, pools, bridges, waterfalls and beautiful vista's they've created thru nature
There is not as we do not allow any outside food or beverages brought into the Gardens aside from Water. However, we do have our restaurant on site that serves breakfast and lunch along with beautiful views of the Gardens.
When is the best time of year to visit the garden?

For 4-6 weeks, Spring is filled with trees and shrubs blooming in a variety of colors. Summer is a variety of shades of green, focusing on our beautifully trained pines. Fall is filled with vibrant shades of oranges, yellows and reds during peak color change. You should come to the Garden during your favorite season.

Yes, you can take the pictures that's been allowed in all the places. If you are planning for the professional photo shot with multiple lighting you need to pay extra.
I don't quite know what you mean by ground covers. The gardens have sidewalk, dirt paths, grass and wood paths one can travel on. Good walking shoes are recommended. Hope that help.
