Large playground in the midst of well kept nature trails.

I picked heron creek, hoping to see herons, but I was disappointed because the trails don't have access to the stream or the lake where you can see these birds—other ways the trails are well maintained and clean. Bathrooms are impeccable. If you have little kids it has a large playing area.

Great place to walk. Trails are wide and dry. Terrain is rolling and varied. Parking and shelter at the top of the hill usually have more room.

Very nice, clean place with a great playground. Be warned this is mainly prairie land and less forested land, be prepared for a lot of sun on a hot day!

I can't imagine why not. I mean there are dogs walking with people on the trails. Just keep in mind the shelters are frequently rented out for parties/events. The other picnic tables are on the playground so they might not be as "welcomed" there unless puppy was good with lots of kids.
