Mesquite is a sweet little library.

Of course because of taxpayers monies this library is somewhat commendable. The air-conditioning was powerful and at the end of my roughly two hour visit I was cold. The Dark Side: Three men occupied when I arrived, what I'd call comfortable 'living room chairs,' my entire visit. Meanwhile, walk over after about an hour, two more looking 'living room,' chairs. Only these had a small desk attached. Taped too that little desk Read This: "Reserved for Teens," and ages appeared. No teens were sitting in these chairs. All the while, I am trying to study sitting in the most extremely uncomfortable, rigid, cold, hard, metallic chair...half of a cage...yet exists in memory...yet another nightmare. Needless, too say at the end my back was aching. How can anyone accomplish anything when feeling uncomfortable and in pain? Impossible. Granted all public libraries seating are undesirable. However, May I suggest if you manage to find a comfortable chair, don't be so selfish and, sit in it for hours on end, go home and sit in your own chair... leave it too their narcissistic culture...nauseating at best... but, not all.

Very helpful, I use the online overdrive e book delivery system a lot, but I also get enough books out that I know the library is a very nice place to sit and read or print out anything you need pretty quick.

Yes. As Mary says.
Yes, you may from library website: Our volunteers assist with programs, shelve materials, jacket books and perform a variety of other tasks. If this sounds like fun and you are 18 years old or older, visit the volunteer information page on the City of Phoenix website where you can explore all your opportunities and complete an application. Teens Are you between 12 and 17 years of age and need to earn service credits this school year? Please check with your local library for service opportunities and application procedures.
Go to phoenixlibrary.gov. create an account (must have library card). Login to account. Look up item. Click to place a hold on item. When item is available they will email you. Go to selected library and pick up item.
I am pretty sure there have been some, but I do not know exact dates of the past ones, or the up coming ones. You can check the website for more, if you are really interested.
Faxes are free if they are local. I don't believe you can send long distance faxes. Ones to 800 numbers might be free, I am not positive. You can also scan a document to yourself and email it if unable to fax.
Please directly speak to Phoenix Public Library staff through email or phone about volunteer opportunities by visiting Ask Us (https://www.phoenixpubliclibrary.org/services/ask-us). Thank you!
Please ask locally at Mesquite Library to see if they are currently accepting donations. Thank you!
Probably not because the library is only doing pick up of reserved books and drop off of books.
I don't think so. Call the help desk number which is on the website. There are quite a few online sites the library subscribes to that may help.
The city hires at 16 for page positions but there are no current positions open. You have to apply through the city not the library.
Yes. Only closed Friday
You can return Phoenix books to any of the 17 Phoenix libraries. The website has a full list. The next closest branch to Mesquite is Juniper which is at 19th Ave and Union Hills.
From library website (http://www.phoenixpubliclibrary.org/AboutUs/volunteer): Regular printing prices apply. The Library offers both black-and-white or color printing and photocopying. Charges are as follows: Black-and-white - 20 cents per page (10 cents per page at South Mountain Community Library) Color - 40 cents per page (50 cents per page at South Mountain Community Library) Print or copy jobs may be paid with one-dollar and five-dollar bills as well as coins. Prices vary due to contractual agreements with the leasing agencies involved. Library staff will assist you with printing or copying.
Call them for sure.
Thank you for asking. I think you should know; that, when you're asking one of the local guides a question about a place; that, it doesn't necessarily mean that they work there. However, I do frequent the library at least once a week and it would be my guess that if the publication is not that far out of date, they would accept the donation. They have a donation slot on the outside of the building so you can just put them in there.
You do not pay for a card. If you have a online Phoenix public library card, you can turn it into a physical one by going to your local library. ( I have done this.)
Yes. There are used books for sale at a discount. Front desk person will help you for questions. Just in front door, to the left.
Yes. The outdoor drop area is readily accessible 24/7, though.

No
(Since it would not be helpful to answer this as a general question) To see what the activities are, ask google " Mesquite Public Library activities calendar" and you will see all the scheduled activities for every day of the week.
If you use the drive window they have a cart to load the books and give you a receipt for taxes
The staff maintains a lost and found for electronics, backpacks and other items they can't identify for return. Bring identification for electronics and call ahead to see if they can at least tell you if they have the type of item you lost. Good luck. Staff are great.
Yes. Audio books are available for visually impaired.
