Excellent park for a family trail

This is a great outdoor space. It has so much to offer for all people to enjoy nature, exercise, and socialize. We love the view of the city at the Sabine Bridge (day and night). There is free parking. Playground for the kids with sand and a uniquely design play scape. But, what I love most about this park is the vibe. People are exercising, meeting and greeting and enjoying each others company. We like to go down right before the bats emerge from the Waugh Bridge. There is always a group of people gathered there every night. The lighting is perfect for a evening stroll and there is staff that patrols.

Cool, nice, pleasant and family friendly place.. walk, picnic, eat .. just in the Houston downtown, no need to go out of city for fresh air

Waugh Drive Bridge Bat. Super flight show, thousands of bats. You have to come at nightfall and don't hesitate to talk to the guide, who will give you plenty of explanations. Difficult parking. Personally, I parked at the Subway just next door

You can find many free spots even before 6, just be aware of all the signage and if there happens to be a meter.
Yes you could!!! Over by the university ( UofH) there is lots of places you could set up... Depends on if you want to ride far or stay close to a parking lot... There's lots of places along the bike trails, and the guy that said no probably never has been there
I took photos all day long and i didn't need a permit. So i don't see why you would need a permit for bday photos. But you can always call the number at the website to be sure.
Its about 15 miles for the whole bayou. Not sure if all area has access at this time since the hurricane
If on the sides by the road
As it is a city park approval from the city may be required contact the special events department for Houston
The parking is typically $1/per 3 hours but I believe it is free before 9 AM
I don't know, just call them to find out.
No
It is paid parking, however you can park up any side street and walk, or park at Lost Lake which has several free parking spots.
I'm not sure but most likely they don't have 4th of july fireworks
You can check with the Dunlavy restaurant, they may
Sorry for the late reply. It started this morning. I drove by and people were flocking there already
Yes
I found the Sports Park parking the best. There are fields for sports and a bike rental place right there.
park. 105 Sabine Street and 3422 Allen Parkway.
There is a skatepark named Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark at Buffalo Bayou.
No cost to enter just pay for parking.
Yes, various locations. Definitely on Sabine. Or at Stude park. Very cheap with big baskets.
Yes it's open
The sunsets can be very nice if you stand in the middle of one of the several pedestrian bridges over the Bayou.
When Stephen F. Austin journeyed to Texas to establish a colony, he carried a Spanish map. Near what is now the Houston area, the map showed a “Rio Cibolo” - “cibolo” being the word Spanish explorers used for buffalo. When Austin had the map translated into English, the waterway was labeled “Buffalo Bayou.”
Well i don't think so. But last Time i saw some people with the kayak in water. Might be is be is legally.
Work is still on, but quite a few trails are usable.
