Clean facility. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Year-round pool. Long “open” hours. Amble workout equipment so you can get your fitness routine done even during peak times. Basketball, Volleyball, Group Fitness. Basically, has it all!

Overall we have enjoyed using the Y in Pensacola. It is well maintained, clean and full of activity options for our kids. The reason for 4 stars is simply the crowds. Workouts can take twice as long as normal waiting for machines to open and while a busy gym has some hype aspect to it, there is the reality that it impacts workout time and especially hurts when time between sets is being monitored.

We’ve been going to the YMCA as a family for 4 years now. Up until recently I’ve been mostly happy with my experience. The last 3 months have been a struggle for me though. The kids zone has been my main concern. Having to wait 30 minutes to drop my child off (at 4:20 literally 20 minutes after the kids zone opened for the evening) … then most times I drop him off there are 4-5 screaming babies in there. I feel awful leaving my 4 year old son in there sometimes. I suggest paying your kids zone people more, and hire more so they aren’t so overwhelmed. I know several that left working in the kids zone because the pay just wasn’t enough for the work load. These are our kids, and we are paying you to take good care of them. Lastly, one highlight for me at this gym was when they added the deadlift platform. It was only here 4 months before they removed it. (I’m assuming because they were allowing 16 yr old kids do CrossFit on it?) That paired with ZERO round plates and never enough barbells (maybe 10 in the entire place) I will most likely be looking for another gym once my son starts school in the fall.

The facility is state of the art. The YMCA offers a broad range of exercise and wellness opportunities for a reasonable price (group classes, personal training, traditional gym equipment, sports, and pool). My trainer Nina La Rue is amazing. She has used her expertise to develop a tailored plan to my fitness goals.

We offered the Silver Sneakers program several years ago. Healthways, the company that owns the program, was unwilling to negotiate a fair contract to the Y for this program, despite our interest in doing so. We decided to end the contract. Instead, we offer financial assistance with membership to all - including our seniors - who need a reduced membership rate to enjoy the Y. Anyone can apply through a very simple and confidential process and receive a membership rate that fits your needs. The Y is for all, and we are committed to saying yes to everyone who wants to join. Please visit our website, call us, or come by to learn more about Y Assistance.
If you don't have member, it's $15/$50 per person per day/month. They have programs for low income to assist with the membership fees. Give them a call.
I sure would like to join if that is an option!
We welcome guests of members here at the Y. The guest simply needs to present a photo ID to sign in. The guest policy is offered so prospective members can try the facility. If a guest has visited multiple times, we will ask you to join.
They have aquatics, bit you may want to call and check with them because I think their classes changed recently.
We offer a Swim Starter class (parent and child) for ages 6 months-3 years and group and private lessons for ages 3 and up. Each session includes 8 lessons. For Household Members, each session costs $40; for community members, it's $80.
They have the state if the arts Exercise area and aqua zumbo and fitness. Amazing!
They do offer 1 day pass but I don't know the cost it may be 10.00
Depends on individual
It's chlorine
We do not work with the Silver Sneakers Program, but we do offer a range of classes just for our active older adults. If there's any financial concern about membership fees, we offer need-based assistance to anyone who wants to be a member.
We do have a large, co-ed steam room on the pool deck at our location.
We have personal trainers on the staff with a range of expertise. They are available to work directly with members for an additional fee. The member and trainer work out a mutually agreeable schedule for these sessions. Although we do not have a physical therapist on staff, our trainers are all certified for the work they do.
I believe so but you must be an active member...
