I have traveled 40 some years with United Airlines, both domestic and a broad, the service is so bad no one speaks English much less is willing to help, your service has really gone down hill. the sad part is no one cares

Had a very bad experience during my last reservation with United, I booked the flight tickets on Number 20th 2021 through United website based on 2 free checked bags per passenger and received the confirmation email clearly indications passenger they collected the requested fees and indicated that the flight is operated by Austrian Air, then while check in at the flight that is operated by Austrian Air they allows only one bag per passenger with no fees and charged me for the extra bags and ignored my ticket terms and confirmation I have and advices me to get back to the ticket issuer. . I contacted the United Air customer service and they didn’t agree to refund the bags fees and referred me back to the carrier (Austrian Air) which also refused to reimburse me for the mistake claiming that they policy allowing only 1 bag per passenger Their reply was” There's no refund for us to provide since your bag fee wasn't collected by United. Please redirect your request to the other airline for resolution” And while they are the merchant that collected the ticket fees that is including the bags fees they also replied “Please check with your final carrier, Austrian Airlines for any compensation or reimbursement due. The final carrier is responsible for working with the customer on these matters.” Noting that I contacted Austrian air twice, once during the check in process at September 23rd at O’Hare airport which they refused to recognize the ticket terms and charged me the fees and the second time online to their customer service after the trip with no response. That's clearly a mistake and not fair to a customer that bought a ticket based on specific terms and conditions and while receiving the service the terms changed and cost me extra than what were agreed on. That’s clearly a violation for the contract of carriage I have with them.

I called United to purchase two tickets. One for myself, and one for my son. I asked the United agent to use any of our available flight credits towards the two tickets and I would pay the difference. When they sent me a confirmation email, I noticed only my name--so I called United. They confirmed that I had two tickets and sent me a confirmation email listing both myself and my son as passengers. On the day of travel we checked in at the baggage check area and got our boarding passes which included seat assignments. When we tried to get on the plane, I was told my son did not actually have a ticket. We were flying a red eye and needed to get back east for a funeral. United told me I would have to purchase a ticket or we would not make the funeral. They also charged me 20% more for the ticket. I called customer service and explained what happened the next day and they said to submit a refund request and United, "would make it right." United Customer Care rejected my request in less than a day.
