We were expecting a trail ride, led by a staff member (staff led). What we got was a glorified pony ride for about 30 minutes where the staff led the horses in circles around a paddock . At no time did we ever have the reins in our own hands. This is a huge change from the last time we were there, when we went into Ellison Park and were completely in control of the horses ourselves! I do not think that this experience is worth $60.00. I can go to any county fair and get this kind of experience for a lot less! The staff were wonderful, friendly and talkative, and the horses were gentle and cooperative, which is why I rated this a 3 instead of a 2. The wording on the website is misleading and needs to be clarified, otherwise we wouldn't have signed up. "Staff led" can also connote someone on a lead horse showing you the way. If you are an experienced horse rider, this is NOT for you. Unfortunately, we will have to look elsewhere to find a stable that meets our riding needs.

We cannot say enough good things about Heberle and our experience with a pony ride. We booked online (super easy and convenient) for our daughter to ride a pony to celebrate her 3rd birthday. Natalie met us on site and was awesome with our daughter! We were able to walk through the barn to say "hi" to many of the horses, Natalie got our pony (Charm) ready, and our daughter her helmet. With winter and unpredictable weather in Rochester, the indoor arena was perfect for the ride! Natalie led the horse, and talked with me and my daughter the entire time! She was also very flexible when my daughter was ready to be done riding, and let us brush the pony and give her a treat! We thought that the cost was quite reasonable and loved the experience so much, that we are returning in a just over a month for another ride! All of the staff was welcoming, happy, and smiling. We felt so comfortable, and our daughter is still telling family members all about it! We look forward to coming back for rides in the future, and cannot wait for our little one to be old enough to attend lessons and camp in a few years. Thank you so much Heberle Stables!

What a great time! A beautiful carriage ride on a beautiful winter day! Our carriage driver was fantastic! Highly recommend a trip there!

Wow! What an incredibly wonderful experience and fun thing to do! Gary and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with the owner, meeting Vita, the German Shepherd, and the other little dog as well as his son Wil who was our host. And of course, the girls, Jade and Lucy, the stars, our horses! Highly recommend and encourage all to do this! I’ve been in Rochester most all my life and never even knew about this! We will do it again as they offer every season! Keep up the good work!
