Hi Kate, Here are our beliefs about sin from our constitution: We believe in the reality of sin, that sin is departure from the purpose and will of God, and that the active originator of sin in the universe was Satan. Proverbs 15:19; Isaiah 14:12-15, 59:1-2; John 1:29, 8:44; 1 John 3:4, 8. You can find a some additional thoughts on our beliefs on our Membership Page: https://www.northridgerochester.com/membership-steps Or we'd be happy to talk with you and answer any other questions you have. Glad to be of help in any way we can be!
Hey Vickie! We totally agree! Membership isn't a requirement to get involved at Northridge and to be a part of what's happening there! People are welcome to attend and get involved without becoming a formal member. You can join community groups, get involved with serving, and connect with almost every aspect of Northridge! Membership would never keep you from getting involved. But membership is available as a next step to connect at Northridge. We don't believe membership has anything to do with our spiritual journeys -- you don't grow closer to God by becoming a member. Pastors have an obligation, according to the Bible, to care for and hold accountable the "flock" they lead. Membership is simply a way of declaring that you are "all in" at Northridge and wish to be under that care and accountability.
We have started one recently. They do not sing every Sunday at this time.
Yes there is the groups welcome children alsogo to there website and you can find a small group list
Hi Peter, Anyone is welcome to attend Northridge. God created everyone of us in His image and extends His love to all of us no matter our background. We are all in need of His love, grace, and forgiveness. If you'd like to grab coffee with one of us with any other questions, let us know.
Communion is observed. Just not every Sunday. We do celebrate this throughout the year. The Constitution can be seen https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://northridgetest.squarespace.com/s/northridge-church-constitution.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjGv-SnsvjgAhXpc98KHdl3C6wQFjALegQIBxAB&usg=AOvVaw2s71NGGyt6HARfmjHjHhBV
As Richard and Melanie mentioned, we typically use the NIV in our sermons, but we think there are a variety of great translations each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Here is an explanation of why we use the NIV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TokHYgypxsU
Hi Susan. There aren't any regular AA meetings at Northridge right now.
Hi Jerid, This is Jason from Northridge. We miss you! I'm not aware for any churches in Bradenton but you might find a church that is a good fit for you through this search filter: https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/churches/ The Gospel Coalition shares our core theological beliefs, though churches differ in distinctive beliefs and style/practice. I hope this is helpful.
