Chadron State Park. About 10 miles south of Chadron NE. This park is an oasis in the panhandle of NE. I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled in. In fact I was wowed. Very nice entrance, there is a booth but it is closed. The park office is right at the entrance with very nice staff. The little pond is right there with stocked fish, ramps, Paddle boats and benches in shady area around the area. Camping spots are paved. Well kept fire pits. Some are reservable, some are FCFS. I got a spot no problem on a Saturday, first week of Aug. There are tennis courts, playgrounds, a very decent pool. Horse rides in good weather, maintained hikes, and a scenic drive of the sandhill. Badlands type, but not so dry. Check out the scenic drive for sure. I'm here for a one night stop, but I think I'll stop on the way home.

I have loved this place since I was a child! Coming back for a week after 50 years of being gone...I was delighted to see what great care they've taken of this place. So many memories and so much fun!

The park was a good experience. I would have given them a five if the cabin was a little bit better. We had issues with greasy blinds and curtains for the rooms. Our smoke detector was placed directly above the oven and goes off whenever cooking on it. Note to self: make breakfast outside on fire pit. The fridge was missing two door shelves, the bathroom was kind of sketchy and very tight. You only have a toilet and tiny shower. Teeth brushing and hand washing are done in kitchen sink, do your dishes right away. Other than the cabin, the park has a ton of great stuff to do. I do recommend just beware of the cabins, you don’t spend much time in them anyway.

Amazing! Beautiful. Great trails for hiking. Neat cabins and camp sites. Great playground and challenging disc golf course.

No
I have no idea. I don't work there, I visited.
Some of the formations are similar to ones you would see in the Badlands. The are many hills to climb and see the beautiful landscapes around. The have trails that go along cliffs as well.
There have been multiple, but the most recent was 2012.
I'd go to the higher areas but really no matter where you are it's a beautiful place
I'm currently in a cabin, the WiFi I am using is on my data not the parks WiFi.
Well what I would like to know is why would you? It's so beautiful and cool no humidity just peaceful and quiet.
$90 per night
You can check their reservation availability on line or call them. Thanksgiving is busy so call early.
