Do NOT recommend unless you will be by your loved one's bedside 24/7. Shame on Beaumont for not putting the needed $ in to do needed renovations and safety improvements. Rooms look like a run down motel. Walls are damaged, dirty. Personal light over the bed is a pull cord with other string knotted and attached to extend it. Light plates missing screws, shower emergency pull cord hanging down from the base exposing wires and hole in the wall, bathroom tile grout dirty, bed comforters look like they are 50 yrs old and never washed. Some of the care staff from temp agencies and not familiar with protocol there. *Most of the employees were very nice and friendly and patient. It must be so hard to retain them. I saw this facility when it was first opened, saddens me to see it like this now. It was better when it was run by a small hospital with upper management that cared and made improvements.

My aunt was there for about 3 weeks sad to say she developed bed sores that could have been avoided had the staff been more attentive and educated on protocol

My father, Ron, is currently in rehab at this facility. Our visit on Easter Sunday left me riddled with worry - despite being told by the Doctor who treated him that she sent her own family there and he would be safe. The staff seemed very disinterested. He had been there for three days and they never pulled his glasses out of his bag so he’s been unable to see and they were barking at him in the bathroom when we walked in. When I asked the aid where his glasses are and that he can’t see properly without them she shrugged her shoulder and said, “He has no glasses.” And walked away. When we asked for a wheelchair so we could take him out for some fresh air on the ground we asked for foot cradles for the wheelchair and she brought some over but said “It really doesn’t matter if you have them or not I’ve tried with him. It’s a lost cause.” And walked away. Horrible. Make no mistake, her tone made it clear - your father is a lost cause. His last name is spelled incorrectly on his door too. The staff stood talking about an array of topics - some work related - most not- as my husband stood two feet away waiting to even be acknowledged so he could ask for water for my father. He was ignored for over 5 minutes. The effort it must have took to ignore a man who was standing feet away with a question had to be more than the effort it took to answer. The attitude was SO incredibly checked out and we felt as if we should apologize for my father being there. There was only one other patient that we saw and my father - both were set in a wheelchair and expected to just sit with zero interaction as best we could tell except bathroom issues. I left there scared my dad would try to stand unsupervised and fall. I got that call today. Though when they called they said, “We are calling about Richard (some other last name)- when I said, my father is Ron (and his correct last name) the woman barely acknowledged the error, sounding thouroghly bored and said “oh, yeah. Ron. I guess I was looking at the wrong name... your father fell...” You are a rehabilitation facility - the level of patient care by the aids and nurses we saw is abhorrent.

If I could give this 0 stars I would first off the building smells like pee really bad and the nurses yell at the people who need help and they are really rough giving showers or helping you with anything and they will let you sit there for over an hour if you need help using the bathroom , the food is absolutely horrible this is no place for someone to stay I can’t wait to get my grandma out of here

Questions & Answers

I would like to volunteer to spend time with 3rd (?) floor patients. My mom was on this floor a couple of years ago. I was just wondering if opportunities were available?

In-patient rehab gives sessions on Sundays to those who need the frequency. There is no out-patient rehab on the weekends.
