Beautiful home and true professionals with wonderful people working there, would recommend to anyone that wants the best care possible for loved ones.

I highly recommend!! Ben and Veronica are the most kind and compassionate people who treat their residents with dignity and respect. They were born for this! The house and residents are always clean and well fed. My dad went there on hospice and we had little hope he would make it past a few months.. His health improved so much because of the care he was receiving and he lived another 2 years!! How amazing!!

5/3/2022 Update - Thank you for the response and I'm sorry you disagree with what I said. With that; I don't feel anything I wrote was miss leading nor incorrect (certainty not a lie). What I will concede is the point of perception and personal experiences. For example: What one person sees as 22 days and "slamming a door" another sees "two and a half weeks" and closing a door that swings easily (not considering the circumstances prior to the door being "slammed" or why "she got upset" in the first place). In my opinion; perception is everything and mediums such as Reviews provide an opportunity to voice said perception, so long as they are truthful and with the intention of providing information to others who may choose to use a service. In the disinterest of continuing semantic, perception based comments or doing a point by point comparison (such as "we are not strict on schedule" then proceeding to outline the restrictions imposed) I want to make a few points clear. The comments/information I provided are not just mine, it's a consolidation of my mother, sister, brother, aunt (who owned and operated a successful assisted living facility for many years) and spouses. Based on their comments, I typed the review as stated below. This response however, is mine. I'm responding independently to not only validate my previous comments but also to avoid the owners from calling my mother again to remove the post (unclear what the conversation entailed but left my mother noticeably shaken because of it). Beyond the understanding of perception, and considering it was a uniform feeling, I'm not sure what to think about being called a liar. Again, I apologize if you are unhappy with our perceptions and how I wrote the review but I don't feel anything I said was a lie or dishonest. For only being at the home for 22 days (as you say) our experience was less than pleasant and added an extreme level of stress to an already stressful and sensitive situation. I wish you luck and, if nothing else, take this as a learning opportunity. (Original Post) Extremely frustrated and would give a zero stars if possible. Put my father in the home based on reviews and initial impressions; boy was I mistaken. They have a VERY strict schedule on when/how you visit. They require an appointment/call ahead (what are they trying to hide?). Even asked my mother to leave because she was there past 6pm, despite being there only a few minutes. CAN'T come during meal times and ONLY allowed to visit in their rooms. They only provide assisted showers once a week and only provide food during meal times. The last straw came after we informed the home about contacting hospice, after only being there less then three weeks. They immediately tried to raise the rates by $900 and wanted to renew a contract on the spot! Stating it was because he "needed more care then initially realized". HE WAS ONLY THERE TWO AND A HALF WEEKS! Never judge a book by it's cover. I can't help the feeling that it's nothing more than a cash cow for them.

Pleasant Valley is a lovely, impeccably decorated, bright and sunny group home. The owners (also the main caregivers) are clearly in this because they earnestly care very much for others. They are taking incredibly good care of my mom and she is in better spirits and better health than she has been in many, many months. They are trustworthy and kind and I’m grateful to have found this facility for my mom.
