When my first 2 iMac's HD died, I went out and bought new computers again. I had no idea you could replace the drive.. that is until my friend took his 27" iMac to Experimax in Canton. He got back a completely new and much faster iMac because Experimax suggested a SSD this time. Well my iMac just died as well, with the HD in my 2017 only lasting 5 years. Couldn't believe it. So I dropped it off, requested a solid state 4TB drive this time, and a few days later got it back.. plugged it in and presto. A new super fast computer with more storage. No problems.... and saved myself 3 to 4 thousand dollars. And because I had a "time machine" external back up drive... all my information, playlists, settings transferred over to the new SSD perfect. So GET A BACKUP DRIVE for time machine while your system is running fine. And when it fails, just drop it off to Experimax. NO PROBLEMS. Cheers to you guys!!!! Heck, you can't even tell that the computer case had been opened up. The glass lined up perfect. No smudges... no glue... no scratches. Nothing but a new looking iMac. Awesome.
