I HATE SEPTA!!! MY TRAIN GOT CANCELLED AGAIN :(((((((
Jojo Quinn
This station is NOT disability friendly!!! The stairs are one thing that keeps anyone with mobility differences from using this station. On top of that, the signs on the platform are not accurate. I have an auditory disability and had to rely solely on the speakers announcing train arrival, which was too quiet to hear over the incoming train. So I missed my train. Fortunately the staff was able to help get me on a different train, but when I mentioned the sign error and the volume of the loud speakers, the employee helping was quite rude and told me that any deaf/hard of hearing person needs to hire a career in order to ride the train. I was shocked to say the least. The cost involved to hire another human being just for a simple train commute is appalling. I'm so taken aback and shocked that I was told that my non disabled mother, who was traveling with me and couldn't hear the speaker either and myself, a normally independent traveller, should NEED to hire a one time career in order to use this station. It's really embarrassing on Amtrak's part as they claim to be entirely accessable. The Septa employees were extremely helpful and kind when I had to use them for a connecting train!

The train station has been modernized in the past few years, but not with the commuter in mind. Now it's a hassle to get to the platform. There's no public bathroom. The ticket office area (which is not open most of the weekend), looks dilapidated.

Good train station, bad traffic

You get on the ticket issue side
The station doesn't really staff anyone on the platform. On weekdays there are SEPTA and Amtrak attendants at the ticket windows and I've had the SEPTA attendant come out and help me with a problem but I don't think this is something they usually do. The platform is equipped with elevators to take you from the platform to the parking lots so you won't need to take any stairs or walk a ramp, if that helps.
Old question, but the 92 bus offers a 20 minute ride from the station to the mall
On Amtrak, but only on the Pennsylvanian (once daily). The other PAO-NYP trains are the Keystone, no business class or cafe car, but they do have a quiet car.
You have to buy it at the station along with that month's pass.
Yes they do
No checked baggage means you are not going to check in your bag in the counter and Amtrak is not going to take and load your bag in train like they do on flight. You have to take it on the train and find a secure place for it in the overhead bins or under your sea. Amtrak allow you to carry a 50lb bag. Every car on Amtrak does have a spot on one of the end just for large baggage. You are good to go.
Yes $1.00 a day. There is a "box" located in the parking area you must pay in quaters
The permit lot is fairly large, and if you get an Amtrak monthly you can get the permit. Monthly permits start to get issued on the 20th of the previous month. They also tend to be sold fast. For April's permit, they will start to be sold on March 20th.
Best thing to do is get on Amtrak. Com and you will be able to find out
Yes, now they are barrier-free. Elevators will take you to the overpass.
It is open 5:00 am to 6:45 pm
There are nice number of people getting on Amtrak at Paoli. Parking might be an issue here. Otherwise it is fine.
The South side
45 by train
Yes, there are bathrooms.
